By joining a LAN center franchise like Friendly Fire, which has a proven track record of success, you can maximize your chances of success and have access to a network of experts and advanced software solutions that are not available to standalone LAN centers.

With the rise in the popularity of esports, opening a LAN center (also known as a gaming cafe) can be a lucrative business opportunity. However, as with any business venture, it's important to consider the financial aspects of owning a LAN center and how to turn a profit.

A LAN center is a business that provides a physical space for customers to come and play video games with friends or other customers. LAN centers typically offer high-end gaming computers, fast internet connection, and various other amenities such as food and drinks, comfortable seating and other gaming related items.

In this blog post, we'll be discussing the financial considerations of owning a LAN center and how to maximize profits. We'll also delve into the benefits of joining a LAN center franchise, specifically Friendly Fire, which has a proven track record of success with multiple LAN centers in its network. With years of experience in the industry, Friendly Fire has never had a LAN center closed due to a financial failure and can help you with financial stability and reduced risk of failure.

Financial considerations for owning a LAN center

Opening a LAN center can be a significant financial undertaking, and it's important to understand the costs associated with setting up and running the business. Before opening a LAN center, it's crucial to budget and research the costs of equipment, rent, utilities, and other expenses to ensure that the investment will be worth it in the long run.

Initial Costs: The initial costs of setting up a LAN center can include the cost of equipment, such as gaming computers, monitors, keyboards, and other peripherals, as well as furniture, sound systems, and other amenities. Additionally, there will be costs associated with leasing or purchasing a space, building out the space, and obtaining any necessary licenses and permits.

Ongoing Expenses: Once the LAN center is up and running, there will be ongoing expenses such as rent, utilities, internet and phone service, payroll, and marketing and advertising. It's important to consider these expenses when developing a financial plan and budget for the business.

Revenue Streams: LAN centers generate revenue through several streams such as hourly or daily fees, memberships, and sales of food, drinks, and other products. It's important to understand the potential revenue streams and how they will impact the overall profitability of the business.

Budgeting and Financial Planning: One of the most crucial steps in ensuring the success of a LAN center is to develop a detailed financial plan and budget. This includes forecasting expenses, revenue, and profits and taking into account the costs associated with running the business. It is important to always have a financial buffer in case of unexpected events.

By joining the Friendly Fire franchise, you will have assistance in creating a comprehensive business plan, taking into account all of the financial considerations for owning a LAN center. Maximizing profits in a LAN center

Once the LAN center is up and running, it's important to implement strategies to attract and retain customers, optimize operations, and increase profitability.

Attracting and Retaining Customers: One of the most important factors in maximizing profits is having a steady stream of customers. This can be achieved through effective marketing and advertising strategies, such as online advertising, social media, and partnerships with local businesses. Additionally, offering incentives such as loyalty programs, discounts, and special events can help to attract and retain customers.

Utilizing Technology and Software: Utilizing technology and software can help to streamline operations and increase efficiency. This includes using software for managing customer data, scheduling, and accounting, as well as using technology to enhance the customer experience. For example, implementing a system for online reservations and payments can make the process more convenient for customers and reduce the workload for staff.

Collaborating with Other LAN Centers and Gaming Communities: Collaborating with other LAN centers and gaming communities can also be beneficial in increasing profits. This can include organizing joint events, sharing resources and ideas, and networking with other industry professionals. Additionally, participating in gaming tournaments and competitions can help to attract customers and generate buzz for the LAN center.

By attracting and retaining customers, utilizing technology and software, and collaborating with other LAN centers and gaming communities, LAN center owners can increase profits and optimize their operations.

It's important to note that a LAN center franchise such as Friendly Fire, has a huge experience and a lot of LAN centers in the franchise, maximizing the probability of success. Top 10 Misconceptions of Starting An Esports Center business

Top 10 Misconceptions of Starting An Esports Center business

Starting a business can be difficult. Starting an esports venue business is even more difficult. In one of the episodes of our Esports & LAN Center Show, our CEO, Zack Johnson, and I discussed the top 10 common misconceptions when opening an esports gaming center.

Everything discussed is now more relevant than ever with the recent COVID pandemic that made businesses where people gather in an enclosed space, such as a LAN center, a little more complicated.

#1: Taking Your Business Plan to Get a Bank Loan

Taking Your Business Plan to Get a Bank Loan

Most entrepreneurs think of this when they get started with a business idea. However, this does not ring true when opening a LAN center. While esports itself is a multi-billion dollar industry, the esports venue business is a niche market.

You'll be hard-pressed to convince a bank to give you a loan for a startup business, let alone something that doesn't have a proven business model. Zack Johnson goes out of his way to explain that you have a better chance of getting a loan for opening a Subway.

Another thing to consider is that there are requirements that revolve around your personal net worth and ability to pay the loan from the bank. If you will be unable to pay the loan with your own net worth in case the business fails, then you are better off getting a business partner to share the cost (and risk) of opening the center.

#2: Don't Build a Plan Around Your Funding Ability

Many people make the mistake of going into a business thinking that they can use whatever money they have as a starting capital and treating it as if it's an investment. The truth of the matter is, you as an entrepreneur, should plan the business first and not restrict the plan based on the amount of money that you currently have.

Johnson gave a great example when he mentioned info that he got from the internet that opening a Subway franchise could range from $116,000 to $263,000. The reason for the disparity in the pricing of the franchise comes from the idea that rental and cost of the materials may differ depending on the location.

Another example that Johnson gave was about opening a trampoline park franchise. The proven model to be successful is to have a capital of $2.5 million in order to fund the business properly (e.g. get the necessary supply of trampolines, facility renovation, etc.). Funding the business with $210,000 and thinking that having only three trampolines can grow the business, instead of doing the tried and tested business model with $2.5 million, is only bound to fail.

#3: "But I have a great location..."

But I have a great location

Don't get us wrong, location is a factor for an esports venue business to be successful. However, you should consider thinking twice about getting a great deal for a location. Because chances are, you will get what you pay for; in real estate, pricing can be a good indication if the business will do good.

Johnson gave an anecdote about his old business partners that had food businesses in three locations. According to his partners, one of the locations was performing poorly. And guess what, the branch that was doing poorly was in a location where they got a great deal in rent. The other locations that they were paying more on rent were financially doing better.

Another story that Johnson shared was when he opened an esports gaming space in Bloomington, IN to focus on college students in the area. He thought that opening in a location near a university would reel in regulars among the students and in writing, it does not sound like a bad idea. While the center was able to get students to play during special nights, they never come as regular customers in the shop.

#4 "My passion is gaming..."

We agree that having a passion is a good thing to have when doing something especially if it's your career or source of income. However, passion alone does not always equate to business success and this is supported by our personal experiences with running esports centers.

An entrepreneur will have to do a lot of research and learn how to run a business properly. At the end of the day, people running an esports venue will have to consider a lot of things like making the rent, setting aside a portion of income for future equipment upgrades, maintenance, and so much more.

Sure, having passion is a great motivator to do something day after day, but you'll also need a reality check that having skills to run a business is a much more important factor.

#5: Starting Small With Future Plan to Grow

This is something that we hear all the time, "I will start with 20 systems, and then I'll add more as my business grows." It's a popular idea that most people have when thinking of opening an esports center but it's also very wrong.

The only time this can work is if you are adding esports to your existing business. This is especially true with family entertainment centers where esports is just a part of the many offerings of that business.

Starting with only 20 systems in a stand-alone esports venue business and expecting it to grow is never a good idea and it almost always fails.

#6: I Can Get a Huge Internet Pipe for Super Cheap

Getting 500,000GB of internet for $99 a month is dirt cheap right? Wrong. Similar to getting a "great" deal on a location, getting a "great" deal on an internet connection, and using it for a business that relies on a good internet connection is a recipe for disaster.

ISP was among Zack Johnson's first businesses and he knows that kind of "deal" means that you'll have access to a connection with other people on the same network that also bought into the $99 deal. Also, to make the deal happen, the ISP will provide devices that are not enterprise-level and may affect connection stability.

It's important to get symmetrical up and down speed that can only happen on a proper enterprise-level internet connection. One of the hallmarks of an esports venue is to provide something that can't be experienced when playing at home and having sub-par internet is going to give the wrong impression to customers.

#7: Testing Success With Consoles

Related to Misconception Number 5 of starting with 20 or fewer PCs. Putting a couple of XBoxes in your center to test the proverbial waters whether there's a demand for consoles is not going to work. As an esports venue, you have to cater to people gaming on several platforms.

The idea of having a few consoles in a place where PC is at the forefront can affect the perception of people that are non-PC gamers. It's also worth noting that an esports center is a place for social gaming, you will get groups of people that are looking to play on consoles.

So if you are going to do consoles make sure to have a minimum amount or don't have consoles at all.

#8: We Can Do All The Work

This is another unrealistic expectation of would-be entrepreneurs thinking that they are saving money and getting started by doing all the work and thinking of hiring people down the line when the business is doing well. Sure the first few weeks aren't going to be bad and you can split the work with your business partner, after all, you're doing something that you both like right?

Think again, nobody wants to work 80 hours a week and not get paid for it. Sure it's your business and you'll be able to pay yourselves, but for how long? Aside from that, you'll be missing out on family events or dates.

As we have mentioned earlier, you need to have a good business plan and funding in order to hire employees and get your esports gaming business running smoothly.

#9: Marketing Isn't Needed to Succeed

Some terrible ideas from some would-be esports venue owners are that businesses can flourish by word of mouth and creating a sound marketing campaign is no longer needed. News flash, Coca-Cola spent $4.24 billion on their global advertising in 2019 just to be on the top of the marketing food chain!

Think about it, that's a company that practically lasted over 100 years and kept on doing marketing just to stay relevant. The good news for you is that there are a lot of free online resources that you can use to market your esports business . You can use social media to post events so that customers will keep coming to your center.

You may think that esports gaming venue is a niche type of business and having very little competition would mean paydirt, but it is a fallacy. As a matter of fact, there are people, up to this day, that still walk in eBash's door and ask what exactly we do. Just imagine that for esports venue that failed to advertise their business properly.

#10: The Focus Will Be on Food and Beverage

The Focus Will Be on Food and Beverage

Another misconception is that focusing on food and beverage will carry the store's sales, as it were. We keep hearing from people that their business will make more money on food or drinks and it will complement their esports offering.

Although there are a handful of centers that have dedicated restaurants (or bakeries), you will need to find people that can effectively run that side of your business. But if your focus is to run an esports venue, then your focus should be on the gaming experience.

Unless you have an existing business related to the food and beverage industry, then adding an esports attraction is a great idea! However, if you are just starting out, you'll have to set your priorities otherwise customers that come to your business looking for a great time playing esports might find themselves disappointed.

In Conclusion

If you made it past the 10 common misconceptions list then I believe that you are bent on doing the best for your esports business. However, you'll have to research and learn everything you can about this niche in order to create sound business decisions.

Esports as a whole is evolving and games are churning content to keep players and spectators happy. It is your job to keep up with the demand of what's popular in your venue to keep the business afloat. However, if you need assistance to get started with your esports venue or want to improve the way you run your business, feel free to send us an email at [email protected] .

Network Game Centers

BUSINESS PLAN

POWERPLAY GAMING, LLC

11007 Woodworth Avenue, Suite 101 Portland, Oregon 97209

This business proposal seeks to set up Network Game Centers, called PowerPlay Gaming, throughout the United States. By setting up networks of computers or consoles that are able to truly capture and show off the programming expertise and high quality of presentation produced by game software, gamers will be able to enjoy playing a new and exciting game without having to purchase the equipment and software associated with a high quality gaming experience.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Company summary, business description, market analysis summary, strategy & implementation summary, management summary, financial plan.

The worldwide video gaming industry generates in excess of $50 billion per year according to the "Executive Interview Series: The State of the Game Market 2001" report published by DFC Intelligence. Most of this revenue is through the sale of hardware and software associated with video games.

A new avenue of additional income connected with the video games industry that has remained largely unexplored throughout the world is that of Network Game Centers (NGC). Our NGC will be named PowerPlay Gaming.

In essence, an NGC's business model exploits the fact that gamers can enjoy playing a new and exciting game without having to purchase the equipment and software associated with a high quality gaming experience. A computer or console that is able to truly capture and show off the programming expertise and high quality of presentation produced by game software developers these days requires a high-end machine with special graphics and sound components as well as other costly hardware prerequisites. These machines are therefore prohibitively expensive and the video gaming fan is relegated to a sub-optimal gaming experience on his affordable but medium to low-end computer at home.

Another factor that is key to the success of the NGC model is the fact that all games, whether computers or otherwise, are vastly more enjoyable when played in groups. Group dynamics is a field of psychology that has been studied endlessly and will not be mentioned in detail here, but it is suffice to say the following: The "challenge" factor that is evident in group games and sports is by far one of the most powerful of driving forces. The camaraderie and sense of satisfaction and achievement that is derived from playing a team sport or group game is not comparable to any other feeling and is now a well established form of entertainment in the world. The NGC business model exploits exactly this group dynamic, resulting in a proven, profit-generating business with a low investment/low operating cost.

The huge market potential and virtually instant return on investment for these entertainment venues is evident from its phenomenal growth rate in both the United States and abroad.

This business proposal therefore seeks to set up NGCs, called PowerPlay Gaming, throughout the United States with an aim to be the best in each selected city and therefore maximizing the profits earned from it.

The main objectives of the development of these new venues are:

  • Capitalize on excellent opportunity to extract maximum revenue in a competitor-less market.
  • To launch the NGC with a highly targeted publicity campaign in the summer of 2003.
  • To maintain tight control of costs, operations, and cash flow through diligent management and automated computer control.
  • To maintain a high standard of product and service provided in the NGC.
  • To exceed $150,000 in annual sales by the third year of plan implementation.

The keys to success in achieving our goals are:

  • Be the first in the market to provide a new entertainment service that has broad appeal.
  • Provide an exceptional service and product that leaves an impression.
  • Consistent entertainment atmosphere and product quality.
  • Managing our internal finances and cash flow to enable upward capital growth.
  • Strict control of all costs at all times, without exception.

The key elements of PowerPlay Gaming's concept are as follows:

  • "War Games" based themes—The company will focus on themes that have mass appeal. A variety of games will be available though.
  • Distinctive design features—The NGC will be characterized by elaborate interior decoration that simulates a "Control Center" as can be seen in any Hollywood movie based on military or Space Travel themes.
  • Location, location, location—One of the major strengths that the NGC will have is its careful choice of location in a high visibility area with plenty of parking as well as complementary businesses close by, such as restaurants.
  • Variety—The NGC will provide a variety of games in its software portfolio to cater to the diverse tastes of people.
  • Quality Hardware—The NGC will provide high-end hardware on which the network and its components will run, to ensure a first-class entertainment experience.
  • Exceptional service—In order to reach and maintain a unique image of quality, the NGC will provide attentive and friendly service through the careful selection of service personnel, and will also invest in the training and supervision of its employees. We estimate two to three staff for an NGC unit to be sufficient and will ensure that their needs are well looked after.

Company Ownership

PowerPlay Gaming will be a privately held LLC, the details of which have not been solidified as of the date of this publication.

Start-up Summary

The company will seek a loan from either a local bank or a venture capitalist for start-up purposes for PowerPlay Gaming.

Funds needed to accomplish goal referenced above will be $50,000. The applicants will require the entire $50,000 to finish project build-out.

We will utilize the anticipated loans in the amount of $50,000 to build out the approximate 500-square-foot space and purchase and set up equipment necessary for start-up of the company. It also will pay for miscellaneous expenses associated with key personnel for the first couple of months. The following tables and charts illustrate the capital requirements.

Network Game Centers

With the emergence of new network technology and high-speed infrastructure around the world, more and more game developers are realizing the huge demand for multiplayer network-based games and have been channeling funds into developing games that can meet this unprecedented demand. These developments have brought a unique opportunity to capitalize on the nature of these games through the model of an NGC. The fact that Internet speed is largely dependent on expensive infrastructure means that a local area network will still be the fastest network available for game playing. This translates into faster and smoother game-play with no jerkiness or delays.

PowerPlay Gaming will provide an exciting environment in which people can play games competitively against each other. The challenge of going up against one's friends in the same place is a far more enjoyable experience than playing against a computer's artificial intelligence or against an anonymous player on the Internet. In the NGC environment, a customer is able to see his opponents as well as converse with them during the game, making for a much more "interactive" environment as opposed to the confines of their PC at home. The gamer also will be able to enjoy the camaraderie that goes with any group activity that usually is not available at home.

The concept and management of PowerPlay Gaming has been well received in the Portland, Oregon, area where hundreds of customers regularly come to engage in a battle of wits against their friends and other NGC customers.

The NGC phenomenon is due to the fact that the challenge factor proves to be very addictive as in any sport or game, and the fact that there are no physical limitations on the players opens up the market for players of all ages, sizes, physical and mental ability to play against one another. A ten-year-old child can easily be the best player in a match against other players much older and wiser. The same goes for players less fit and less physically active than other "sporty" competitors. PowerPlay Gaming provides a level playing field for all.

The fact that this is a new and exciting form of entertainment is especially attractive in cities that are limited in the variety of entertainment that is available for the young generation.

The demographics and entertainment market in Portland, Oregon, appear to be ripe for which PowerPlay Gaming to flourish. No doubt that with the right set-up and marketing, it will prove to be so.

Market Segmentation

We see PowerPlay Gaming as appealing to three major market segments. Fortunately, the long hours of operation help the company lend itself to multiple segment appeal. Our market segmentation scheme allows some room for estimates and nonspecific definitions.

  • Childless Young Professionals —Due to the nature of the games, PowerPlay Gaming will appeal to primarily single young males that will enjoy a group activity after working hours to blow away the stresses of the day. Video games are certainly not the domain of children anymore as evident in the demographics of people who have purchased the Sony Playstation consoles (I and II) as well as more recently, Microsoft's X-Box. Up to 75% of NGC customers are single adult males between the ages of 18 and 35. This segment also spends the most amount of time (and money) in the NGCs (10 - 20 hours a week).
  • College Students —Although less affluent than young professionals, college and high school students also make up a significant portion of an NGC's customer base. These are people that are just starting to enjoy social activities that were not available to them as youngsters. Their spending power may be less than our first group but makes up a significant portion of revenues since they are able to visit the NGC at earlier times than members of our first group due to their working hours. This segment makes up roughly 20% of the NGC's patronage.
  • Children —Although at first glance it would seem that children would have the most significant part to play in the success of PowerPlay Gaming, the reality is that children's time in an NGC is limited largely due to the restrictions placed on them by parents as well as a lack of money available to spend on a daily basis. Parents would rather buy their child a console to play within the safety of their homes where they can "keep an eye" on them. Having said that, this segment does prove to be useful in revenue terms to fill PowerPlay Gaming for a short time after school hours when the parents allow their children some flexibility to meet with their friends for some harmless fun. A variety of games are available to meet the needs of these younger customers that make up roughly 5% of an NGC's customer base.

Target Market Segment Strategy

Our strategy is based on serving our niche markets exceptionally well. The pure gaming enthusiast, the group activity buffs, as well as children, can all enjoy the NGC experience.

The marketing strategy is essential to the main strategy:

  • Emphasize exceptional service.
  • Create awareness of PowerPlay Gaming's high quality hardware.
  • Focus on our target markets.

We must charge appropriately for the high-end, high-quality service we offer as well as take advantage of the fact that we will be the best in the market. Our revenue structure will be higher (but not prohibitively so) than Internet Cafés (the closest comparison to this kind of business) due to the fact that our computers and network will be of a much higher quality and specification than that required in Internet Cafés.

Part of the superior experience we will offer will be the ease of use of the computers since the software we will use to manage the center will store all the customer's customized setups of the keyboard and multimedia features. Customers will not have to go through the hassle of setting up their computers to their exact requirements every time they come back to us. Logging into the system with their user name and password will set their computer back exactly to their previously stored settings. The software also will ensure that they can pick up their previously saved games exactly where they left off since most games require several hours to complete.

Special pricing structures also will exist to accommodate groups of players and "off peak" days of the week and hours of the day. This will ensure that the maximum revenue can be obtained from each working day of PowerPlay Gaming and will be an added incentive for customers to utilize the center to its fullest.

Tournaments will be held on a regular basis with sponsored prizes to appeal to the competitive streaks of groups and individuals as well as a "Top Ten Players" list that will be analyzed using specialized software. A prizes and incentives scheme will be associated with this list. These elements will further ensure that customers come back to our establishment repeatedly.

Service Business Analysis

Video games have significantly impacted young peoples' lifestyles and the economy in every developed country in the 1990s. Entrancing players with fantasy, visual effects, and addictive game play, video games are still one of the highest cash flow businesses in the world. The average gamer will spend three to four hours every day in this type of activity and will spend an average of $9 to $15 every time. As we move further into the new millennium, this trend shows no signs of declining.

The typical NGC of our style is open from 12:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M. , and within this time frame, the NGC can achieve gross revenues anywhere from $500 to $1,000 daily. The primary sources of revenue in an NGC of this type are high volume traffic and regular, long-staying customers who play for 4 to 5 hours every day. In addition to gaming revenues, we also have an option to generate substantial revenues from food and beverage sales should the right environment be attained and a customer need perceived.

Additionally, the NGC industry is shifting towards a more entertainment-oriented concept. Customers of these venues are not only offered a unique gaming experience, but also a place to participate in additional exciting events through interactive contests, theme nights, and other events. We intend to heavily utilize entertainment-oriented marketing in an effort to withstand the perpetual shift in trends and cater to as large a client base as possible.

NGCs are extremely self-sufficient with little support required from outside suppliers. Aside from the occasional maintenance of computer equipment and replacement of breakables (such as keyboards, mice, and headphones), the only regular supply that is required for the normal and profitable operation of the NGC is electricity.

In Portland, Oregon, all major brands of computer equipment and peripherals are readily available at ever cheapening prices due to heavy competition. In addition, preferential pricing can be obtained for breakables from local suppliers due to the fact that our business has a higher than normal rate of peripheral damage and therefore replacement requirement.

Business Participants

The NGC will be part of the audiovisual entertainment industry, which includes several kinds of businesses:

  • Cinema and Rented Movies —This genre usually appeals to the same demographic clientele as an NGC. This same client base dictates that the average price structure be comparable in order to create "regulars."
  • Home-based Console and Computer Games —Although on paper a significant competitor, an NGC provides a form of entertainment not available to the home gamer. This stems from the fact that home gaming is a solitary or at best small group activity whereas in an NGC, gaming can be enjoyed with groups of up to 20 in our proposed venture.
  • Internet Cafés —Primarily used for more passive activities such as E-Mail, information gathering and "chatting," an NGC's main customer base will come from those people that are already quite used to paying for their computer time and are familiar to the concept of Computer Cafés.

Main Competitors

Manhunt—Cedar Hills 30+ PCs Space Raiders—Walnut Grove 30+ PCs Rivenated—Metzger 30+ PCs

PowerPlay Gaming's competition lies mainly with other forms of audiovisual entertainment as well as group activities such as sports. We need to effectively market our concept and ensure word-of-mouth advertising by providing a first-class entertainment experience, while maintaining the idea that playing computer games in groups can be a lot of fun. Our polling has indicated that consumers think of quality, reliability, atmosphere, and price respectively. Additionally, price was frequently mentioned by pointing out that if the former concerns are present then they are willing to pay more for the experience.

The main indirect competitors of the NGC will be:

Cinema & Video Rentals

Not as regular an activity as going to an NGC since new movies are shown at a minimum of every week and therefore a customer may spend on average two to four hours every two weeks or so going to the cinema.

Home Video Games

A solitary activity and one which is easily surpassed in terms of appeal by hardware at an NGC that is far superior to that affordable by the normal gamer. Further, the group element of an NGC proves to be far more appealing than playing by oneself.

Internet Cafés

A very indirect competitor since the services offered are very different to those at a dedicated gaming establishment.

In order to place emphasis on exceptional, reliable entertainment quality, our main tactics are bi-monthly servicing of computers, including the replacement of faulty peripherals as needed. We also will upgrade computers as required according to the recommended specifications of game publishing companies.

Our second strategy is emphasizing customer satisfaction. We will ensure that the customer is never allowed to be bored with the activities available at PowerPlay Gaming. Not only will he always have the latest and most popular games available to play, but he will be able to take part in competitions. A close eye will be kept on gaming magazines and Internet sites to ensure that we are always first to market with new and exciting games that are released in the United States and Europe.

Our promise fulfillment strategy may be our most important. The necessary tactics are friendliness of staff, long-lasting relationships, ongoing maintenance, and attention to detail, especially after popularity has been established and new competitors enter the market. Through empowerment of service employees to solve problems and reward regular customers without waiting for management consultation, we create a win-win situation for the customer and the NGC.

Continuous and never-ending improvement is the order of the day through our "on the job" training sessions and regular meetings. Since value is equal to service rendered minus the price charged, it is crucial to go beyond the mere supplying of computers and games—you have to create a long-lasting impression.

  • Emphasize reliability—We MUST prove to our customers that perfectly functioning computers and associated equipment should be expected as part of the gaming experience. We will differentiate ourselves from the mediocre NGCs when they surely arrive in the market.
  • Emphasize an entertaining experience—By assuring that all guests will enjoy themselves every time without a lapse in reliability, we will be securing market share through repeat business.
  • Focus on a variety of rewarding activities—Our marketing, promotions, group activities, and competitions will ensure that people do not get bored with our service.
  • Differentiate and fulfill the above promises.

We cannot just market and sell a new entertainment concept; we must actually deliver on our promise of quality, service, and a unique gaming experience. We need to make sure we have the fun and service-intensive staff that we claim to have.

Marketing Strategy

Through friendly and courteous service, we will build relationships with our regular customers to ensure that when competition does arrive, our regulars will be reluctant to go to them due to their personal ties with us.

Advertising budgets, tournaments, and promotions are ongoing processes of management geared to promote the brand name and keep at the forefront of the NGC industry in Portland, Oregon.

We will depend on newspaper advertising as well as leaflet distribution at places of gathering of our customer base to promote our establishment. Our strategies and practices will remain constant, as will the way we promote ourselves:

  • Advertising—We will be developing a core-positioning message.
  • Grand Opening—We will concentrate a substantial portion of our early advertising budget towards the "Grand Opening Event."
  • Direct Marketing—We will directly market in areas of high traffic for our main market segment such as cinemas and restaurants.

PowerPlay Gaming will create an identity-oriented marketing strategy with executions particularly in print media, in-store promotions at supermarkets and video stores.

A grand opening event will be held to launch PowerPlay Gaming in the summer of 2003. A newspaper advertising blitz will precede the event for two weeks, with ambiguous teasers about an "event like no other" in the city's history and the forthcoming opening date. Contests will be held through the newspaper and handouts, giving away V.I.P. passes (coupons) to the event while at the same time creating excitement about the opening. The opening date is tentative at this point and dependent upon network set-up completion. The budget for the event will be $500, and the milestone date will parallel the available opening date.

Achievement of the following campaigns will be measured by the polling of customers as to how they heard of PowerPlayGaming for the first ninety days of operation. Future advertising budget adjustments will be made as the results dictate.

We will be running regular newspaper ads and direct-mail campaigns to create brand awareness. Our newspaper ads will be concentrated strongly in Portland's major newspapers. Through attractive design, a teaser campaign, and the use of catchy phrases, we hope to obtain intellectual ownership of our target market segments.

We will advertise directly to our regular customers through e-mail and normal post as well as in areas where our customers regularly gather, such as the cinema through the use of fliers and leaflets. Promos such as "introduce a new customer and get an hour free" would be relatively inexpensive from an advertising standpoint and require limited ongoing maintenance and expense. Ads also will go into the college newspapers for the local campuses.

Jessica Miller will be responsible for all advertising and promotions activities with consultation from Mark Stafford. The monthly budget for advertising and promotions activities will be set once the levels of "word-of-mouth" advertising and business levels are assessed.

Shirts, baseball caps, and bumper stickers bearing the NGC's logo also will be eventually marketed, as well as given away as prizes, in order to further spread brand awareness. All the partners will approve artistic design but Jessica Miller will negotiate the supply.

Sales Forecast

Our forecast for income for the first year of operation is based on an NGC with 20 PCs and the lowest hourly sales price of $3.00.

Competitive Pricing

The price will be brought down from a relatively high price of $5 per hour to $4.50 to $4 per hour in order to maximize revenue during the process of lowering the prices to market norms. The lowest price will be maintained at $3 per hour with any additional cut in prices by competitors battled with an aggressive marketing strategy.

The time frame for the price reductions will be decided upon after analyzing the situation at the time and will be done so with every resistance tactic including the sales of packages for bulk purchase, group discounts, and other such promotions that will keep us competitive, but maintain a higher average price for hours sold.

The company will have two managers with a common passion for this business and a firm commitment to realizing the vision, and share a common goal: to provide a unique and entertaining experience through state-of-the-art technology and exceptional service.

Management Team

Mark stafford, operations manager.

Stafford's specific responsibilities will lie primarily with the coordination of events and oversight of the operations as well as technical support and development of the NGC.

Jessica Miller, General Manager

Miller primarily will be responsible for the marketing and publicity with a view to developing the business in other areas. Specific responsibilities will be to manage the reinvestment of funds and coordinate marketing activities with Mark Stafford.

The positions of operations support staff, technical assistants, cleaners, etc. will be openly sought from the market nearer to the opening of the NGC.

Management Team Gaps

We believe we have a solid team constructed in order to cover the main points of the business plan for the first NGC. Management growth through training and exposure will be an ongoing component of PowerPlay Gaming's priorities.

However, we do realize that as we expand to other NGCs in the region (as is the long-term plan), we will require other managers and technicians to whom we can entrust the operations of this cash-based business. The candidates will be carefully chosen due to their backgrounds and personalities and through personal recommendations of their character.

The process of identifying suitable candidates for the General Manager's position will be ongoing as we expand our operations and any candidates identified will be hired as assistants and trained according to our requirements while under perpetual assessment as to their suitability for the job.

Personnel Requirements

The Personnel Requirements reflect the dual objective of providing an ample amount of service personnel to run the day-to-day operations of PowerPlay Gaming as well as to develop staff for future setups. Our headcount will remain at two to three employees (including the General Manager) at each NGC unless any unforeseen demands dictate otherwise.

Network Game Centers

The financial projections for this plan are presented in the tables and charts of the following subtopics.

Important Assumptions

The financial plan depends on important assumptions. The key underlying assumptions are:

  • We assume a slow-growth economy of five percent the first year, and three percent thereafter, without major recession.
  • We assume that price will be a key competitive element in the first three years of operations where competitors in the business will seek to cut into our business through price cutting.
  • We assume continued popularity of NGCs and the growing demand for high-energy, high-tech entertainment venues.
  • We assume that average daily customer usage of PCs is 3 hours per customer.
  • We assume that the NGC will be open daily between the hours of 12:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M.

Break-even Analysis

The NGC Break-even Analysis formulas are presented in the text below.

Fixed Costs = $7,500 /month Debt Repayment = $1,000 /month (approximate)

Break Even Point = $8,500

Average Daily Revenue Required = $283.33 Minimum Daily Hours Sold Required = 283.33 / 3 = 94.44 hours Minimum Daily Hours Sold/PC Required = 94.44 / 20 = 4.72 hours Minimum Daily Customers Required = 94.44 / 3 = 31.48

Projected Profit and Loss

The table presents expected Profit and Loss figures for the coming years, based on the first year figures and a 10 percent growth in the market. The expenses have been overestimated for the table for the sake of remaining conservative and a drop in hourly price to reflect competition also has been incorporated in the calculation. We expect though, that the market will stabilize by the end of the third year of operation.

How Does A LAN For Business Work?

For business owners, setting up networks to allow multiple computers and devices to communicate can be difficult; not because it’s complicated, but because it can become very tedious. As seemingly minor errors or omissions can have drastic consequences, many business owners opt to hire IT professionals to set up their networks. This week, without getting hyper-technical, we’ll talk about local area networks, or LAN - what they are, how they work, and why they’re awesome.

LAN – What is it?

LAN stands for “local area network.” It refers to computers and other devices that are relatively close to each other and are part of the same network. These computers can share printers, servers, and documents. Computers are connected through ethernet cables. The cables converge into a switch or router, which can connect to the internet or to a server. If a LAN is connected to the internet, the connection can be considered a WAN (“wide area network”).

A LAN can refer to and encompass computers in a building, computers in your office , computers in your home, or computers connected to each other by physical means.

LAN – How Does It Work?

You need ethernet cables to create a LAN for your business; this is the physical means of connection. Although we all know what an ethernet cable looks like, articulating what it does can be quite challenging. The simplest way to explain ethernet technology is to say that it is a technology that allows us to connect multiple devices and ultimately form a LAN. For those interested in a more technical explanation on ethernet technology, please feel free to check out this   article .

The ethernet then connects to either a switch or a router; this can be connected to a modem for internet access. Modern routers act as switches and modems as well. In fact, here is a short list of some of the functions of a modern router:

  • Wireless access point – Modern routers are generally presumed to be   wireless   routers that provide Wi-Fi connectivity. Wi-Fi for businesses is crucial, so make sure your wireless router is   reliable .
  • Switch – The simplest way to think of a switch is a device that allows you to connect multiple devices using an ethernet cable. A standalone switch can plug into a router and add several extra ethernet ports.
  • Router – Simply put, routers make sure web traffic gets to the appropriate device by assigning a local IP address. A local IP address is like apartment numbers in a building. They each share the same street address but have their own unique designation within the area.
  • Modem – processes signals from an internet service provider to connect you to the internet. If you only have one device, this is all you need. Alone, this does not offer wireless connectivity.

LAN – What Are The Benefits Of A LAN For Business?

Think of a LAN as a single, interconnected entity. Logically, this implies that something done or located on one computer can be used or accessed by another computer if they are within the LAN (or, in other words, part of the same local network ). The possibilities and advantages are enticing:

  • Save money. By dramatically reducing the number of expensive peripheral equipment such as laser printers, you can keep the savings for a rainy day. All the devices on your network should be able to use the equipment so long as it is properly set up.
  • Share files with ease. The perks of a LAN are that you don’t have to email files back and forth. Each file can (or should) be stored on a server and can accessed through a shared drive.
  • Efficient IT services. Access to computers is not limited to just file-sharing. In fact, if you have an in-house IT staff, they can access your computer remotely . That’s right – they can access and control your computer from their own computer in case yours has an issue.
  • Physical security. If your files are stored on a local server, you likely have the server in a locked room. Moreover, you likely set up your server so that it can be accessed only through a VPN or LAN.

Data Security

The benefits don’t end there, however. If you want to get the best out of a LAN, you should consider having professionals set up a LAN for your business. You’ll avoid the headache of having to do it yourself and save time and money by getting it right the first time .

How to Start a Game Center Business

A game center is a place where people can come together to play video games, compete in tournaments, and form a community of their own.

Learn how to start your own Game Center Business and whether it is the right fit for you.

Start a game center business by following these 10 steps:

  • Plan your Game Center Business
  • Form your Game Center Business into a Legal Entity
  • Register your Game Center Business for Taxes
  • Open a Business Bank Account & Credit Card
  • Set up Accounting for your Game Center Business
  • Get the Necessary Permits & Licenses for your Game Center Business
  • Get Game Center Business Insurance
  • Define your Game Center Business Brand

  • Set up your Business Phone System

We have put together this simple guide to starting your game center business. These steps will ensure that your new business is well planned out, registered properly and legally compliant.

Exploring your options? Check out other small business ideas .

STEP 1: Plan your business

A clear plan is essential for success as an entrepreneur. It will help you map out the specifics of your business and discover some unknowns. A few important topics to consider are:

What will you name your business?

  • What are the startup and ongoing costs?
  • Who is your target market?

How much can you charge customers?

Luckily we have done a lot of this research for you.

Choosing the right name is very important. Read our detailed guide on how to name your business . We recommend checking if the business name you choose is available as a web domain and securing it early so no one else can take it.

Want some help naming your game center business?

Business name generator, what are the costs involved in opening a game center business.

Costs vary for owners depending on where they open. A franchise can cost more than $200,000 and require substantial capital and liquid assets. You may be able to open for considerably less than this if you scout for cheaper equipment or open in a less desirable section of town.

What are the ongoing expenses for a game center business?

Game centers need to budget for the cost of their space, the maintenance of their machines, and the salaries of their staff. They’ll also need to factor in the cost of advertising and ongoing commercial insurance

Who is the target market?

The target market can be any video game player, whether they’re serious or casual. Gaming centers welcome people of all skill levels, whether they have a few minutes to play or several hours. This market does skew toward young males under the age of 35 who have enough disposable income to participate in new games.

How does a game center business make money?

Game centers make money by charging customers to use their facilities, typically by the hour or per day. They may also rent out their facility for private events, such as birthday parties.

Game centers can charge around $20 a day for an all-day pass on the weekends. They may offer all-day passes on the weekdays for $10 or feature ‘happy hour’ pricing at a drastically reduced price of $5. A birthday party with up to 18 stations may cost between $500 – $600. This includes everything from favors to refreshments.

How much profit can a game center business make?

Profits for a gaming center can vary based on location and marketing strategies. However, because the machinery is already paid for, the margins for profit can be quite high as long as the technology is well-maintained.

How can you make your business more profitable?

Owners can sell merchandise or gaming accessories to make themselves more profitable. They can also host a game exchange, where they take a small cut of the sales (or a flat rate from each guest) for facilitating the event.

STEP 2: Form a legal entity

The most common business structure types are the sole proprietorship , partnership , limited liability company (LLC) , and corporation .

Establishing a legal business entity such as an LLC or corporation protects you from being held personally liable if your game center business is sued.

Form Your LLC

Read our Guide to Form Your Own LLC

Have a Professional Service Form your LLC for You

Two such reliable services:

You can form an LLC yourself and pay only the minimal state LLC costs or hire one of the Best LLC Services for a small, additional fee.

Recommended: You will need to elect a registered agent for your LLC. LLC formation packages usually include a free year of registered agent services . You can choose to hire a registered agent or act as your own.

STEP 3: Register for taxes

You will need to register for a variety of state and federal taxes before you can open for business.

In order to register for taxes you will need to apply for an EIN. It's really easy and free!

You can acquire your EIN through the IRS website . If you would like to learn more about EINs, read our article, What is an EIN?

There are specific state taxes that might apply to your business. Learn more about state sales tax and franchise taxes in our state sales tax guides.

STEP 4: Open a business bank account & credit card

Using dedicated business banking and credit accounts is essential for personal asset protection.

When your personal and business accounts are mixed, your personal assets (your home, car, and other valuables) are at risk in the event your business is sued. In business law, this is referred to as piercing your corporate veil .

Open a business bank account

Besides being a requirement when applying for business loans, opening a business bank account:

  • Separates your personal assets from your company's assets, which is necessary for personal asset protection.
  • Makes accounting and tax filing easier.

Recommended: Read our Best Banks for Small Business review to find the best national bank or credit union.

Get a business credit card

Getting a business credit card helps you:

  • Separate personal and business expenses by putting your business' expenses all in one place.
  • Build your company's credit history , which can be useful to raise money later on.

Recommended: Apply for an easy approval business credit card from BILL and build your business credit quickly.

STEP 5: Set up business accounting

Recording your various expenses and sources of income is critical to understanding the financial performance of your business. Keeping accurate and detailed accounts also greatly simplifies your annual tax filing.

Make LLC accounting easy with our LLC Expenses Cheat Sheet.

STEP 6: Obtain necessary permits and licenses

Failure to acquire necessary permits and licenses can result in hefty fines, or even cause your business to be shut down.

Federal Business Licensing Requirements

Certain state permits and licenses may be needed to operate a Game Center. Learn more about licensing requirements in your state by visiting  SBA’s reference to state licenses and permits .

State & Local Business Licensing Requirements

For information about local licenses and permits:

  • Check with your town, city or county clerk’s office
  • Get assistance from one of the local associations listed in  US Small Business Associations directory of local business resources .

Most businesses are required to collect sales tax on the goods or services they provide. To learn more about how sales tax will affect your business, read our article, Sales Tax for Small Businesses .

Trademark & Copyright Protection

If you are developing a unique product, concept, brand, or design, it is prudent to protect your rights by registering for the appropriate trademarks and copyrights.

Learn more about trademark and copyright protection

The nature of legal requirements in distance education is ever changing, especially in regards to copyright laws. Here is  a frequently updated resource, which can help keep you aware of the legal requirements .

Certificate of Occupancy

A Game Center business is generally run out of a storefront or standalone building. Businesses operating out of a physical location typically require a  Certificate of Occupancy  (CO).  A CO confirms that all building codes, zoning laws and government regulations have been met.

  • If you plan to lease a location :
  • It is generally the landlord’s responsibility to obtain a CO.
  • Before leasing, confirm that your landlord has or can obtain a valid CO that is applicable to a Game Center store business.
  • After a major renovation, a new CO often needs to be issued. If your place of business will be renovated before opening,  it is recommended  to include language in your lease agreement stating that lease payments will not commence until a valid CO is issued.
  • If you plan to purchase or build a location :
  • You will be responsible for obtaining a valid CO from a local government authority.
  • Review all building codes and zoning requirements for your business’ location to ensure your Game Center business will be in compliance and able to obtain a CO.

STEP 7: Get business insurance

Just as with licenses and permits, your business needs insurance in order to operate safely and lawfully. Business Insurance protects your company’s financial wellbeing in the event of a covered loss.

There are several types of insurance policies created for different types of businesses with different risks. If you’re unsure of the types of risks that your business may face, begin with General Liability Insurance . This is the most common coverage that small businesses need, so it’s a great place to start for your business.

Another notable insurance policy that many businesses need is Workers’ Compensation Insurance . If your business will have employees, it’s a good chance that your state will require you to carry Workers' Compensation Coverage.

STEP 8: Define your brand

Your brand is what your company stands for, as well as how your business is perceived by the public. A strong brand will help your business stand out from competitors.

If you aren't feeling confident about designing your small business logo, then check out our Design Guides for Beginners , we'll give you helpful tips and advice for creating the best unique logo for your business.

Recommended : Get a logo using Truic's free logo Generator no email or sign up required, or use a Premium Logo Maker .

If you already have a logo, you can also add it to a QR code with our Free QR Code Generator . Choose from 13 QR code types to create a code for your business cards and publications, or to help spread awareness for your new website.

How to promote & market a game center business

Gamers spend a good deal of time on the internet, so you may want to consider local advertising on social media channels, such as Facebook or YouTube. Consider making videos geared toward the gamer first — not for advertising your business. For example, make a ‘Top 10 Tips’ for your hottest game. A local gaming celebrity may be willing to promote your business online as well. Finally, owners can incorporate more traditional marketing, such as flyers, radio, or TV ads, as a way to round out their approach and really get the word out.

How to keep customers coming back

Customers want to have fun, make friends, and learn some new skills. They want to be recognized for the skills it took them so long to build. The more you can give them the technology and the facilities they need to thrive, the more likely it is that people will want to come back.

Owners also need to stay on top of the latest games, so their inventory and selection are always fresh. Listening to customers and adapting your business model to the latest trends can be a good way to maintain loyal customers while still attracting others.

STEP 9: Create your business website

After defining your brand and creating your logo the next step is to create a website for your business .

While creating a website is an essential step, some may fear that it’s out of their reach because they don’t have any website-building experience. While this may have been a reasonable fear back in 2015, web technology has seen huge advancements in the past few years that makes the lives of small business owners much simpler.

Here are the main reasons why you shouldn’t delay building your website:

  • All legitimate businesses have websites - full stop. The size or industry of your business does not matter when it comes to getting your business online.
  • Social media accounts like Facebook pages or LinkedIn business profiles are not a replacement for a business website that you own.
  • Website builder tools like the GoDaddy Website Builder have made creating a basic website extremely simple. You don’t need to hire a web developer or designer to create a website that you can be proud of.

Recommended : Get started today using our recommended website builder or check out our review of the Best Website Builders .

Other popular website builders are: WordPress , WIX , Weebly , Squarespace , and Shopify .

STEP 10: Set up your business phone system

What happens during a typical day at a game center business?

Game centers host video game players from all walks of life. Staff will spend time setting the stations up, selling merchandise, chatting with customers, researching new games, and maintaining the cleanliness of the space. Owners will need to advertise, prepare budgets, and manage employee requests and guest expectations alike.

What are some skills and experiences that will help you build a successful game center business?

Game centers will take a lot of persistence to get off the ground, so owners will need to be ready to sell their business to the public. Formal education is not necessarily required, but having experience in sales and business management will help immensely. Ideally, you should also have deep ties to the larger gaming community. This can help you determine which games to carry and what customers are looking for in a center.

What is the growth potential for a game center business?

The video game industry brought in $108.9 billion in revenue last year alone. Gaming centers are still something of a niche market, but one that’s supported by an ever-growing customer base. There is a need for a different venue for gamers to practice their skills and build a community.

What are some insider tips for jump starting a game center business?

Game center owners are still in uncharted territory, and much of your success will depend on the inherent interest in your area. In neighborhoods that already have a dedicated gaming community that needs a common space, you may be able to open in an out-of-the-way location. However, most owners will likely want to open in a busy area to encourage word of mouth and general interest.

If you’re already a dedicated gamer yourself, you should be promoting your business to anyone in the area who may be interested. In fact, polling people to find out their enthusiasm level in a communal space can give you a better idea of how to structure your business model. For example, if more people are interested in straight tournaments rather than open gaming, you can coordinate your weekend events to meet demand.

In the same vein, owners will also need to find out from what angle they want to promote their business. For example, are they trying to provide gamers with a chance to meet new people and make friends? Or do they want to give gamers a platform where they can show off their skills? Obviously, people can come for both reasons, but owners should have a clear branding strategy when it comes to getting the word out.

Look for ways to attract new people into your facility whenever possible. For example, do you have a communal space where you can host more traditional card games, such as Magic the Gathering? Or can you appeal to casual video game players with amateur contests (featuring big prizes) on certain nights of the week? Parents might enjoy a night away from their children where they can engage in a fun competition. The more creative you are, the more likely it is you’ll be able to appeal to a much wider base.

How and when to build a team

You’ll need a staff to maintain daily operations from the very beginning. Look for employees who are friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about the gaming community. As time goes by, consider hiring your most loyal customers, as they will already be familiar with the clientele and the selection.

What is a Call Center Business Plan?

A business plan provides a snapshot of your call center as it stands today, and lays out your growth plan for the next five years. It explains your business goals and your strategy for reaching them. It also includes market research to support your plans.

Why You Need a Business Plan for a Call Center

If you’re looking to start a call center, or grow your existing call center, you need a business plan. A business plan will help you raise funding, if needed, and plan out the growth of your call center in order to improve your chances of success. Your business plan is a living document that should be updated annually as your company grows and changes.

Sources of Funding for Call Centers

With regards to funding, the main sources of funding for a call center are personal savings, credit cards, bank loans and angel investors. With regards to bank loans, banks will want to review your plan and gain confidence that you will be able to repay your loan and interest. To acquire this confidence, the loan officer will not only want to confirm that your financials are reasonable, but they will also want to see a professional plan. Such a plan will give them the confidence that you can successfully and professionally operate a business. Personal savings and bank loans are the most common funding paths for call centers.

Finish Your Business Plan Today!

How to write a business plan for a call center agency.

If you want to start a call center or expand your current one, you need a business plan. Below we detail what should be included in each section of your own plan:

Executive Summary

Your executive summary provides an introduction to your business plan, but it is normally the last section you write because it provides a summary of each key section of your plan.

The goal of your Executive Summary is to quickly engage the reader. Explain to them the type of call center you are operating and the status. For example, are you a startup, do you have a call center that you would like to grow, or are you operating call centers in multiple markets?

Next, provide an overview of each of the subsequent sections of your plan. For example, give a brief overview of the telemarketing industry. Discuss the type of call center you are operating. Detail your direct competitors. Give an overview of your target customers. Provide a snapshot of your marketing plan. Identify the key members of your team. And offer an overview of your financial plan.

Company Overview

In your company overview, you will detail the type of call center you are operating.

For example, you might operate one of the following types of call centers:

  • Inbound Call Center : this type of call center focuses on answering inbound phone calls usually from new and existing consumers.
  • Outbound Call Center: this type of call center specializes in calling customers and consumers on a company’s behalf and are responsible for selling a product/service and expanding a company’s reach in their phone calls.
  • Automated Call Centers: this type of call center has a computer-based system that is interactive and allows the callers to handle some of the responsibilities of directing their call.

In addition to explaining the type of call center you will operate, the Company Overview section of your business plan needs to provide background on the business.

Include answers to question such as:

  • When and why did you start the business?
  • What milestones have you achieved to date? Milestones could include the number of customers served, number of positive reviews, reaching X amount of clients served, etc.
  • Your legal structure. Are you incorporated as an S-Corp? An LLC? A sole proprietorship? Explain your legal structure here.

Industry Analysis

In your industry analysis, you need to provide an overview of the telemarketing industry.

While this may seem unnecessary, it serves multiple purposes.

First, researching the industry educates you. It helps you understand the market in which you are operating.

Secondly, market research can improve your strategy, particularly if your research identifies market trends.

The third reason for market research is to prove to readers that you are an expert in your industry. By conducting this market research and presenting it in your plan, you achieve just that.

The following questions should be answered in the industry analysis section:

  • How big is the industry (in dollars)?
  • Is the market declining or increasing?
  • Who are the key competitors in the market?
  • Who are the key suppliers in the market?
  • What trends are affecting the industry?
  • What is the industry’s growth forecast over the next 5 – 10 years?
  • What is the relevant market size? That is, how big is the potential market for your call center? You can extrapolate such a figure by assessing the size of the market in the entire country and then applying that figure to your local population.

Customer Analysis

The customer analysis section must detail the customers you serve and/or expect to serve.

The following are examples of customer segments: telemarketing companies, large organizations, charities, and help desks/customer support teams.

As you can imagine, the customer segment(s) you choose will have a great impact on the type of call center you operate. Clearly, charities would respond to different marketing promotions than help desks, for example.

Try to break out your target customers in terms of their demographic and psychographic profiles. With regards to demographics, include a discussion of the ages, genders, locations and income levels of the customers you seek to serve.

Psychographic profiles explain the wants and needs of your target customers. The more you can understand and define these needs, the better you will do in attracting and retaining your customers.

Competitive Analysis

Your competitive analysis should identify the indirect and direct competitors your business faces and then focus on the latter.

Direct competitors are other call centers.

Indirect competitors are other options that customers have to purchase from that aren’t direct competitors. This includes in-house customer support departments and online support websites. You need to mention such competition as well.

With regards to direct competition, you want to describe the other call centers with which you compete. Most likely, your direct competitors will be call centers located very close to your location.

call center services competition

For each such competitor, provide an overview of their businesses and document their strengths and weaknesses. Unless you once worked at your competitors’ businesses, it will be impossible to know everything about them. But you should be able to find out key things about them such as:

  • What types of customers do they serve?
  • What type of call center are they?
  • What is their pricing (premium, low, etc.)?
  • What are they good at?
  • What are their weaknesses?

With regards to the last two questions, think about your answers from the customers’ perspective. And don’t be afraid to ask your competitors’ customers what they like most and least about them.

The final part of your competitive analysis section is to document your areas of competitive advantage. For example:

  • Will you provide shorter call times and higher call volume?
  • Will you provide call center services that your competitors don’t offer?
  • Will you provide better customer service?
  • Will you offer better pricing?

Think about ways you will outperform your competition and document them in this section of your plan.

Marketing Plan

Traditionally, a marketing plan includes the four P’s: Product, Price, Place, and Promotion. For a call center agency, your marketing plan should include the following:

Product : In the product section, you should reiterate the type of call center company that you documented in your Company Analysis. Then, detail the specific products you will be offering. For example, in addition to a call center, will you provide call forwarding, market research, lead generation, and any other services?

Price : Document the prices you will offer and how they compare to your competitors. Essentially in the product and price sub-sections of your marketing plan, you are presenting the call center services you offer and their prices.

Place : Place refers to the location of your call center company. Document your location and mention how the location will impact your success. For example, is your call center located in a busy retail district, a business district, a standalone office, etc. Discuss how your location might be the ideal location for your customers.

Promotions : The final part of your call center marketing plan is the promotions section. Here you will document how you will drive customers to your location(s). The following are some promotional methods you might consider:

  • Advertising in local papers and magazines
  • Reaching out to websites
  • Social media marketing
  • Local radio advertising

Operations Plan

While the earlier sections of your plan explained your goals, your operations plan describes how you will meet them. Your operations plan should have two distinct sections as follows.

Everyday short-term processes include all of the tasks involved in running your call center, including answering inbound calls, making outbound calls, finding solutions to customers’ issues, track statistics of your call length and volume, and expand the reach of your client.

Long-term goals are the milestones you hope to achieve. These could include the dates when you expect to land your Xth client, or when you hope to reach $X in revenue. It could also be when you expect to expand your call center to a new city.

Management Team

To demonstrate your call center’ ability to succeed, a strong management team is essential. Highlight your key players’ backgrounds, emphasizing those skills and experiences that prove their ability to grow a company.

Ideally you and/or your team members have direct experience in managing call centers. If so, highlight this experience and expertise. But also highlight any experience that you think will help your business succeed.

If your team is lacking, consider assembling an advisory board. An advisory board would include 2 to 8 individuals who would act like mentors to your business. They would help answer questions and provide strategic guidance. If needed, look for advisory board members with experience in managing a call center or successfully running a sales or customer support team .

Financial Plan

Your financial plan should include your 5-year financial statement broken out both monthly or quarterly for the first year and then annually. Your financial statements include your income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statements.

sales growth

In developing your income statement, you need to devise assumptions. For example, will you take on one new client at a time or multiple new clients ? And will sales grow by 2% or 10% per year? As you can imagine, your choice of assumptions will greatly impact the financial forecasts for your business. As much as possible, conduct research to try to root your assumptions in reality.

Balance Sheets : Balance sheets show your assets and liabilities. While balance sheets can include much information, try to simplify them to the key items you need to know about. For instance, if you spend $50,000 on building out your call center, this will not give you immediate profits. Rather it is an asset that will hopefully help you generate profits for years to come. Likewise, if a bank writes you a check for $50,000, you don’t need to pay it back immediately. Rather, that is a liability you will pay back over time.

business costs

In developing your Income Statement and Balance Sheets be sure to include several of the key costs needed in starting or growing a call center:

  • Cost of computer software.
  • Cost of equipment and supplies
  • Payroll or salaries paid to staff
  • Business insurance
  • Taxes and permits
  • Legal expenses

Attach your full financial projections in the appendix of your plan along with any supporting documents that make your plan more compelling. For example, you might include your office location lease or invoices of client projects you are working on.

Putting together a business plan for your call center is a worthwhile endeavor. If you follow the template above, by the time you are done, you will truly be an expert. You will really understand the call center industry, your competition, and your customers. You will have developed a marketing plan and will really understand what it takes to launch and grow a successful call center.

Moscow Business Plan Options

There are mainly two types of business plans that are written in Moscow: capital raising business plans and management or managerial business plans.

Raise Capital with a Business Plan

Most business plans are written with eye towards raising money for their venture. In a business plan that is written for investment capital, the structure of the business plans and therefore the most important point of the document will be the value-added benefit. Information on the products, services and the market will play central roles in the development of the plan, as well as various payout or exit strategies for the investors. Most business plans will focus on either selling equity or debt to investors.

  • Equity : In an equity business plan the company seeking funding will sell an ownership stake. If the company is a corporation, they will sell shares or common stock or a variation of them. If the company is a LLC or a Limited Company (which is popular worldwide) interest or units in the company would be offered. Both a form of ownership, just with a different name for each entity. In additional, there are other sweeteners one can add into any business plan offering, including warrants or preferred shares or preferred units or convertible debt.
  • Debt : in a debt offering business plan the company will be issuing some type of bond or a note to investors. A bond or note differ only in terms of the length of each security, which bonds being considered a longer maturity date than a note. There are also convertible debt securities that would convert the notes/bonds to equity at a certain fixed point in time. The business plan for bonds would detail the terms, such as the maturity date, interest rate and other vital information.

Managerial Guidance Business Plan

  • No Capital Raising : In a managerial or a management business plan, the focus is not on raising money but what strategy a company should employ. While most companies that write business plans do so to raise capital, there are some that simply want to get a second opinion or an outside view of their business. They ask us to write them a business plan for growth opportunities, not to raise money. Said another way, the management of the company wants to see our view and take on their business and what we would do to expand their company.
  • Recommendations : A business plan used to simply strategically plan one’s next move is referred to as managerial guidance business plan document. No capital is being raised initially, although sometimes we may conclude that capital should be raised for the company to penetrate or open new markets or opportunities. In the course of research, we may conclude that, in fact, the company should conduct an offering and raise money. We will recommend the amount to raise based on the company’s expansion needs and the company valuation.

Moscow-City – The Moscow International Business Center

The Moscow Intenational Business Center

Moscow-City is an iconic location for life and work in Russia’s capital. Enormous skyscrapers, business centers, the best restaurants and retail spaces – all this is concentrated in one place. The ultramodern Moscow-City towers are truly striking in their outward appearance, and the layout of the apartments inside and the fantastic views that can be seen from the higher floors are nothing short of impressive.

This skyscraper compound, often referred to as Moskva-City, is the Russian take on Manhattan, where businessmen strike multi-million dollar deals daily while ordinary life goes on next door. Its state of the art spaces offer the ultimate convenience. The infrastructure of this business district is so well-developed that anyone can find something interesting for themselves here: from residential apartments to boutiques, clubs, exhibitions and more.

When the foundations for the Moscow-City skyscrapers were laid, a special kind of concrete was used, the properties of which are amplified by many times compared to standard concrete. Even in the event of a plane crashing into one of the buildings, the structural integrity of the towers will be preserved.

The architects of the Moscow-City Business Center have created a unique locality that has integrated into itself the hub of the capital’s business life and a whole ensemble of historical monuments. Anyone can admire the beauty of these skyscrapers from within or without the compound. There are also a number of apartments for sale or rent available in the MIBC itself. But first, let’s have a look at some more interesting facts about the financial core of Russia’s capital.

How It All Began

The history of Moscow-City goes all the way back to 1992. The government of Moscow at the time wanted to bring into existence its own skyscrapers like the ones in London or New York. And the idea caught on. In 1992 the project for the construction of the huge “Moscow-City” MIBC compound was enthusiastically approved, kick-starting the painstaking preparatory works. The original intention was that the skyscrapers would only house office space. However, as time went on, the towers began to welcome in ordinary residents who wanted to live on the territory of this business and finance hub.

Moscow-City is undoubtedly a city within a city. Its grandeur is mind-boggling. It is perfect in every way: from location to infrastructure. And today, anyone can get a feel of the atmosphere of the “capital city” of Russia’s business world – many of the apartments in Moscow-City are available for rent. Any citizen of Russia and even nationals of other countries can make use of these offers.

What It’s Like in 2021

Today Moscow-City is not just a magnificent and fascinating sight, but also a real hub for the work, life and leisure of thousands. Its infrastructure is organized in such a way that there is no need to leave the territory of the “city within a city” at all. This business district contains everything one may need for work and recreation. And if one does decide to venture out into the larger metropolis, the MIBC’s three subway stations make this remarkably simple to do.

Moscow-City stands on the Presnenskaya Embankment . Each of the buildings in the district has a name, which simplifies its identification. Some of the buildings form complexes that are united under one name, such as the Neva Towers and the Naberezhnaya Tower complex of two skyscrapers and one high rise. There are a total of 16 towers in the MIBC, of which the most popular are:

  • Moscow-City Central Core;
  • Tower 2000;
  • Evolution Tower;
  • Imperia Tower;
  • City of Capitals (Moscow Tower and St. Petersburg Tower);
  • Steel Peak Tower;
  • Federation Tower;
  • Mercury City Tower;
  • OKO Tower Complex.
  • 1 Moscow-City Central Core
  • 2 Tower 2000
  • 3 Evolution Tower
  • 4 Imperia Tower
  • 5 Moscow Tower and St. Petersburg Tower
  • 6 Steel Peak Tower
  • 7 Federation Tower
  • 8 Mercury City Tower
  • 9 OKO Tower Complex
  • 10 Afimall City Shopping Center
  • 11 Bagration Bridge
  • 12 Expocentre Fairgrounds

Moscow-City Central Core

This is the most complex building within the MIBC compound. Its total floor area is a whopping 1 476 378 sqft (450 000 m²). It consists of two massive parts, each of which boasts a truly impressive infrastructure. The underground part includes 3 Moscow Metro stations, a parking lot for automobiles and a shopping mall. The aboveground part houses a concert hall and a hotel.

Tower 2000 is a skyscraper having 34 stories. Its total floor area is 200 318 sqft (61 057 m²), most of which is office space. The key feature of this skyscraper is its direct connection to the Bagration Bridge, which has its own shopping arcade. The tower has everything one may need while working here, including a large parking lot and several restaurants.

Evolution Tower

This elegant structure is 836 feet (255 m) high – that’s a whole 54 stories! The total floor area here is 554 462 sqft (169 000 m²). The Evolution Tower’s key feature is that it has its own Wedding Hall. This skyscraper houses large office spaces, a parking lot and several restaurants.

Imperia Tower

MIBC’s Imperia Tower is the undeniable focal point of the MIBC’s business life. Its height is 784 feet (239 m), which means one can hold conferences and resolve key business matters on the 59 th floor! And that really is amazing! The tower has everything: offices, hotels, restaurants and parking lots. But if you want a truly unforgettable experience, visit the viewing platform! It is situated on the 58 th floor and a simply astounding view of Moscow can be seen from it.

Moscow Tower and St. Petersburg Tower

The Moscow and St. Petersburg Towers are the chief representatives of the MIBC. The Moscow Tower has 76 stories and is 990 feet (302 m) high, while the St. Petersburg Tower has 65 stories and stands 843 feet (257 m) tall. Both towers offer fantastic views of the capital city.

Most of the floors of these two skyscrapers are taken up by luxurious sky apartments. There are also several recreational and entertainment centers, office spaces, restaurants, etc.

Steel Peak Tower

Also known as the Eurasia Tower of Moscow-City, this supertall skyscraper has a total of 680 912 sqft (207 542 m²) of floor space. Most of this is taken up by offices, and the rest – by residential quarters (around 65 616 sqft or 20 000 m²). The tower also houses a number of the greatest restaurants, studios and shopping centers.

Federation Tower

The Federation Tower is a complex of two skyscrapers, known as Tower East and Tower West. Tower East is the second highest building in Europe (the first is a skyscraper recently erected in the city of St. Petersburg). Its height is a colossal 1 223 feet (373 m) and that makes 95 stories! Tower West, on the other hand, is noticeably shorter at 794 feet (242 m).

The Federation Tower is a multifunctional complex.

Mercury City Tower

The Mercury City Tower skyscraper is widely known as one of the tallest buildings in Europe. Its height is 1 112 feet (339 m) and it has 75 stories. It is multifunctional by concept, holding within its walls shopping centers, offices and all kinds of other spaces. It is also possible to rent apartments here.

OKO Tower Complex

The OKO Tower Complex consists of two towers – the North Tower (49 stories and 803 ft or 245 m in height) and the South Tower (85 stories and 1 155 ft or 352 m in height).

Each of the MIBC’s tower complexes has its own recreational and entertainment areas, restaurants and parking lots. The top floors of most of these buildings contain luxurious fully-furnished apartments. At night, the towers shine with bright lights, while inside them the panoramic windows reveal astounding views of Moscow. This breathtaking view of the capital of Russia is why visiting Moscow-City is a must!

What Not to Miss

There are many interesting landmarks within the Moscow-City compound, but three of them are truly deserving of special attention:

  • The Afimall City Shopping Center;
  • The Bagration Bridge with two galleries and a shopping arcade;
  • The Expocentre Fairgrounds.

Afimall City Shopping Center

The Afimall City Shopping and Entertainment Center is located in Moscow-City’s Central Core. It is divided into 4 zones, each with its own theme – one for every season of the year. The shopping center houses the biggest indoor fountain found worldwide. The height of this watery wonder is 118 feet or 36 meters.

The shopping and entertainment center contains everything one might expect from one of the largest centers of its kind:

  • Retail brand stores;
  • Exhibitions;
  • Game rooms;
  • and Restaurants.

The main recreational space is roofed with a giant transparent dome, which is an impressive sight to behold.

Bagration Bridge

Bagration Bridge with its upper and lower galleries has a shopping center all of its own and was the first structure to be built as part of the Moscow-City business district. Its lower gallery is a shopping arcade and its upper gallery is an open-air viewing platform with a spectacular view of the MIBC and the Moskva River. The hall of the bridge houses the 23 foot tall sculpture called “Tree of Life”. Having gone through the bridge via either one of its two galleries, a pedestrian would find themselves standing right on the Kutuzovsky Prospekt.

Expocentre Fairgrounds

The Expocentre Fairgrounds exhibition venue is located at the very heart of the capital. The first exhibition held at the Expocentre happened all the way back in 1959, much earlier than the MIBC was erected. Today it is the venue of many interesting events.

Exhibitions with very diverse themes are regularly held at this complex. An up-to-date schedule can be found on the official webpage of the Expocentre. The events can be free or fixed-price entry, depending on their type.

Renting and Buying Real Estate in Moscow-City

Moscow-City is not only a work and business hub, but also a residential neighborhood. Any citizen of Russia can rent or buy apartments or elite sky lounges here. The variety of residential real estate available inside the skyscrapers is impressive, including options for any pocket. The following buildings in the MIBC contain residential blocks:

This skyscraper has a mirror glass façade which reflects the passing clouds. Just imagine how beautiful that looks! Anyone can buy an apartment in the Federation Tower. Such properties are not only a good investment, but also a mark of prestige. The average price of residential real estate here is 45 million rubles for an apartment with a total floor area of 334 sqft (102 m²). The average price of a square meter (3.28 square feet) is in the range of 650 to 700 thousand rubles. There are two- and three-room apartments available in the Federation Tower, each with its own loggia. As for rent, the minimum price of one month’s stay in a three-room apartment in this skyscraper is 300 000 rubles per month.

And for those looking for a lower price point, some of the properties are also available for rent – in this case you will pay a minimum of 250 thousand rubles per month.

The Imperia Tower is a key cluster of interesting offers. The best options for buying and renting apartments within the MIBC can all be found in this skyscraper. The lowest price of a residential apartment here is 40 million rubles. A square meter (3.28 square feet) in a luxurious apartment in the Imperia Tower currently costs 600 thousand rubles, while the price range of the listings available for rent in this skyscraper is from 350 thousand all the way up to 1 million rubles per month.

This complex, standing on a faceted or “crystal” base, is an architectural engineering project boasting spectacular design. Behind its impressive façades is an abundance of penthouses and apartments having floor areas in the range of 262 sqft (80 m²) to 984 sqft (300 m²). The minimum price of an apartment in the OKO Tower Complex is 40 million rubles (the price of a square meter (3.28 square feet) is 500 thousand rubles). You can rent an apartment here starting from 400 thousand rubles per month.

City of Capitals

The City of Capitals is an exemplary architectural complex. Its sum appearance gives the impression of a huge city. Inside its walls are spacious apartments available for purchase and rent. This complex is considered to be especially prestigious. The prices of apartments here start from 50 million rubles, while the minimum cost of renting is 400 thousand rubles per month.

Please note! The price of real estate available for purchase or rent depends on: the tower, the floor, the total floor area, the furnishings and/or interior design, and other factors.

The key advantages of buying/purchasing real estate in Moscow-City are:

  • Favorable location;
  • Convenient transportation links;
  • Well-developed infrastructure;
  • High safety level;
  • Efficient architecture;
  • Panoramic windows.

Buying real estate in Moscow-City is very much a rational decision, most appealing to those who value the ultimate level of comfort. The residential apartments here boast impressive interior design solutions executed in the contemporary style.

Editors note: This story has been updated to correct the number of jobs that President Joe Biden said have been created in Wisconsin since he took office.

STURTEVANT - President Joe Biden on Wednesday touted Microsoft's planned $3.3 billion investment in its Mount Pleasant data center as a product of his administration's economic growth agenda, contrasting it with the unfulfilled promise of the neighboring Foxconn International Holdings development deal that was negotiated during Donald Trump's presidency.

Biden joined Microsoft President Brad Smith and Gov. Tony Evers Wednesday at Gateway College's Integrated Manufacturing and Engineering Technology Center to announce the expansion of Microsoft's data server complex, and the tech giant's plans to add about 2,000 permanent jobs over time. The new value of the development is more than three times what was announced a little more than a year ago when Microsoft signed its first deal to buy land in the village's Wisconsin Innovation Park.

Biden said the Microsoft development is a "comeback story," playing out across Wisconsin and the nation, that stands in contrast to the 2017 efforts of Trump and state Republican officials to bring Foxconn to Mount Pleasant. Microsoft is building its data center on land that Foxconn was initially expected to use for a $10 billion LCD manufacturing plant that Trump touted as the "eighth wonder of the world." Neither the investment nor the 13,000 jobs Foxconn promised materialized.

"Foxconn turned out to be just that," Biden said. "A con."

Visit comes as Biden, Trump locked in close race

Biden's stop in Sturtevant, his fourth trip to the state this year, comes as he is locked in a tight presidential race with presumptive GOP nominee Trump, who held a narrow, 51-49 percentage point lead among Wisconsin's registered voters and likely voters, according to the most recent Marquette Law School Poll . On economic issues, the poll found voters favored Trump 52-34.

Biden referenced Trump and Foxconn early in his 20-minute speech before an audience of about 200, using that experience to contrast with the 177,000 jobs that he said have been added in Wisconsin under his watch.

That growth, he said, stems from his " Investing in America " initiative, a package of bills passed in late 2021 and early 2022 that aims to encourage investments in domestic manufacturing and infrastructure, accelerate the nation's transition to clean energy, and create new, well-paying jobs.

"On my watch we make promises and keep promises," he said.

Microsoft workforce development efforts praised

Biden and Smith also highlighted Microsoft's expanded commitment to workforce development, business assistance and training and other initiatives designed to position the state as a hub for artificial intelligence-powered economic activity by helping workers and businesses adapt to working AI. That initiative includes a plan to help 100,000 workers learn new skills by 2030.

"What I want you to know is this isn't just about building a building. It is not just about manufacturing jobs today," Smith said. "More than anything, this project is about using the power of AI to fuel the future of manufacturing companies and jobs and skills across the state of Wisconsin and around the country. That is what we are building together."

The new value of the development reflects the torrid pace at which Microsoft has moved since it bought a 315-acre parcel in the business park in early 2023. It began construction of the first of two data center buildings just a few months later and by December had finalized a deal to acquire another 1,030 acres, for $176 million.

In April, Microsoft received preliminary approval from the village to begin grading land to the west of the construction site to prepare it for two additional buildings. In the near term, the construction project is expected to employ 2,300 union workers.

Smith in an interview said the fast movement was made possible with the cooperation of local, regional and state agencies who help smooth the permitting process and had premade large investments to develop the business park and ensure it was ready for construction. He acknowledged that preparation was done for Foxconn.

AI training for 100,000 workers promised

Microsoft's push in southeast Wisconsin isn't only focused on buildings. Smith said it will also make a multimillion-dollar investment in training programs that will teach business and technical leaders how best to adapt AI and transform work culture, support start up businesses, prepare hundreds of students for careers as data center technicians, and provide boot camp-style training for more than 100,000 people who need new skills to work in the artificial intelligence economy.

The effort builds on Microsoft's previous investments in business and workforce development in Wisconsin and brings in many of the same partners, including the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Connected Systems Institute , the Green Bay Packers and the Titletown Tech business development center, the Madison startup accelerator gener8tor, United Way and Gateway Technical College.

To support it, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. will provide $500,000 to TitletownTech, the Green Bay-based Packers-Microsoft venture capital and business development partnership. The funds will help TitletownTech set up a Milwaukee office at UWM's Connected Systems Institute , a research and education center focused on advanced industrial processes.

Microsoft also intends to open an  AI Co-Innovation Lab lab at the Connected Systems Institute to help Wisconsin manufacturers, entrepreneurs and other business connect with Microsoft AI experts for guidance on implementing AI technology to grow their businesses. WEDC will provide an additional $500,000 to cover capital expenses associated with the initiative.

"Looking to the future, we could not be more excited that Microsoft chose Wisconsin for its new and most important AI innovation." Evers said. "Located in UWM's Connected Systems Institute, the Wisconsin AI co-innovation lab will focus on bringing AI skills and capability to manufacturers to strengthen thus vital sector."

One of only three such labs in the country, the lab will be Microsoft's first east of the Rocky Mountains and the only lab that is both run in partnership with a university and also focused on manufacturing businesses. Staff at the lab are expected to work with at least 60 manufacturers a year.

Wisconsin Republicans accuse Biden of trying to 'hijack' credit for project

Local Republican officials walked a line between praising the Microsoft announcement and deriding Biden on a call with reporters ahead of the event.

“Microsoft's announcement of private-sector jobs in Racine is good for workers, and it's all the more important when workers and families find themselves falling further and further behind due to the reckless inflation brought on to us by the Biden administration,” said U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil, whose district includes the Racine area.

Steil also noted that data centers use a large amount of electricity, and said Wisconsin will need a “solid domestic source of energy” going forward. He pointed to We Energies’ plans for a new $1.2 billion natural-gas powered generating plant in Oak Creek as a positive step in that direction.

“It's imperative that we continue that investment in our infrastructure, in particular, transitioning the Oak Creek facility to natural gas, but in doing so, we're going to have to make sure that the pipeline of natural gas is actually built,” Steil said.

State Sen. Julian Bradley, R-Franklin, and Republican Party of Wisconsin chairman Brian Schimming echoed Steil’s thoughts. Bradley characterized Biden’s visit as an attempt to “hijack” an “awesome” announcement for Wisconsin workers because he’s “failing everywhere else.”

“Joe Biden is limping back to Racine today to look for a ‘Racine reset,’” Schimming said, noting that Republican former President Donald Trump carried Racine County in the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections.
