Additionally, students who have attained a minimum of 65% in their degree program after completing their diploma are also eligible to apply. To qualify, the annual income of the student’s family should not exceed 6 lahks per annum.

Post SSC Scholarship for Girls (NTDNT), Gujarat: Female students who are pursuing their education from the 11th grade up to the PhD level are eligible to register for the scholarship. It is important to note that this scholarship is exclusively applicable to female students belonging to the NTDNT category.

Post SSC Scholarship for Boys (NTDNT), Gujarat: Male students who are currently enrolled in educational programs ranging from the 11th grade to the Ph.D. level are eligible to submit their applications. To qualify, the annual income of the student’s family should not exceed 1.50 lacs for urban areas and 1.20 lacs for rural areas.

War Concession Scheme, Gujarat: This scholarship is open to the children of soldiers who have sacrificed their lives in war, and who are currently studying in government educational institutions.

EBC Fees Exemption Scheme, Gujarat: Students pursuing their graduation can apply. Full scholarship for those who scored more than 60% in their 12th and half scholarship for those who scored less than 60%. For renewal, a minimum of 50% score is required. The family income must not exceed 2.5 lac per annum.

The State Government of Gujarat has launched digital Gujarat scholarships for students of SEBC, SC/ST, OBC and other categories aspiring to pursue higher education.

The digital Gujarat scholarship portal is a web-based online application launched by the government. The students can find details and apply for the best Gujarat scholarships online through the portal. The state government and its subsidy departments provide digital Gujarat scholarships to the  domiciles of Gujarat . The  tentative  last date to apply for the post-matric scheme for SC students is  January 15th, 2022 .  In this article, the readers can learn more about the top digital Gujarat scholarships available for students. 

List of Digital Gujarat Scholarships

The Gujarat government offers several scholarships to  SEBC, SC, ST, OBC, etc. The digital Gujarat scholarships are available to the male and female students residing in the state. Some of the top ten digital Gujarat scholarships are as follows:

Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana

Scholarships to the disabled students, post ssc scholarship for sebc girls, post ssc scholarship for sebc boys, food bill assistance for sebc medical and engineering students, higher secondary scholarship for minority students, fellowship scheme for sebc m.phil and phd students, post-matric scholarship for sc students, post-matric scholarship for st female students, post-matric scholarship for obc students.

The education department of Gujarat provides the  Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana [MYSY] Scholarship . The students who want to pursue a diploma course can apply for the scholarship on the  MYSY  official website.

Eligibility Criteria

The students should meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Students should score at least  80%  or above in  Class X or Class XII.
• They should enrol in a diploma or bachelor 's degree for the first year .
• Students who have scored  65%  in their diploma course and wish to register in the first or second year of degree can also apply.
• Family income should not exceed  INR 6,00,000  per annum.

Scholarship Benefits

The selected candidates will receive the following benefits:

• The government will pay  INR 2,00,000  towards tuition fees.
• The students will receive  INR 12,000  for hostel food.
• The government will pay  INR 10,000  towards books.

The department of social justice and empowerment of Gujarat offers scholarships to disabled students. The scholarship aims to support underprivileged disabled students domiciled in Gujarat. 

The students meeting the following eligibility criteria can apply for the scholarship:

• Students should be at least  40%  disability. 
• Students studying  class I to class XII  can apply.
• Family income should not exceed  INR 50,000  per annum.
• Candidates should have secured a minimum of  40%  marks in the previous qualifying examination.
• Students should have a good attendance record.

The students will receive the following benefits:

• The government will grant  INR 1,000  to students studying  class I to class VII  each year
• The government will contribute  INR 1,500 or INR 5,000  to students studying in  class VIII to class XII  each year.

The social justice and empowerment department offers post-matric SSC scholarships for girls belonging to the Socially and Economically Backward Class (SEBC). The scholarship is exclusively for  female students  pursuing a   post matriculation level. 

The candidates applying for the scholarship should meet the following criteria:

• Female students should be  domiciles of Gujarat.
• They should belong to the  SEBC  category.
• Students should be studying in  class XI to PhD  level.

Department of social justice and empowerment in Gujarat provides the post SSC scholarship for  boys  belonging to the  SEBC  category. The male students who are residents of Gujarat and are studying post matriculation can apply for the scholarship. 

The eligibility criteria are:

• Male  students from Gujarat should belong to the Socially and Economically Backward Class ( SEBC ) category.
• Students studying in  class XI to postdoctoral level  can apply.

The selected students for the  post-matric SSC scholarships for SEBC girls  and  post-matric SSC scholarships for SEBC boys  will receive the following rewards:

• Group - A   (BSc, medical, and engineering students):  the government will grant  INR 280  for hostellers and  INR 125  for day scholars each month.
• Group - B (diploma courses in engineering, technical science, and postgraduate courses):  the government will pay  INR 190  for hostellers and  INR 125  for day scholars each month.
• Group - C   (medicine, commerce, arts, and postgraduate programs):  the government will pay  INR 190  for hostellers and  INR 125  for day scholars each month.
• Group - D   (graduation and post-graduation courses):  the hostelers will receive  INR 175 , and the day scholars will receive  INR 90  each month.
• Group - E   (class XI and class XII students):  the government will pay  INR 115  for hostellers and  INR 65  for day scholars each month.

The social justice and empowerment department offers concessions in the food bill for medical and engineering students belonging to the  SEBC  category. The students will receive  stipends  for the food bill provided at the hostels  every month .

The candidates should meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Students should be pursuing a course in  medicine or engineering.
• They should be  hostellers.
• Should belong to the  SEBC  category.
• Family income should not exceed  INR 2,50,000  per annum.

The selected candidates will receive  INR 1,200  per month as a concession in the meal bill for  ten  months. 

The students studying in  class XI and class XII  can apply to the higher secondary scholarship. They should belong to one of the  minority  communities. The department of social justice and empowerment governs this scholarship. 

The applicants should meet the following criteria to be eligible:

• Students should be  domiciled  or permanent residents of  Gujarat.
• They should be from the  minority  community.
• Family income should not exceed  INR 1,50,000  per annum.

The candidates will receive the following benefits:

• The government will provide the  class XI  students with  INR 725  for hostellers and  INR 475  for day scholars every year.
• The government will grant the  class XII  students  INR 1,140 for hostel students and INR 840  for day scholars every year.

The department of social justice and empowerment under the government of Gujarat offers this scheme to the  SEBC  students pursuing  M.Phil and PhD  courses. The candidates should be  Gujarat residents  to apply for the fellowship scheme for the SEBC students.

To be eligible, the students should meet the following criteria:

• The candidates should belong to the  SEBC  category.
• They should pursue a course in  M.Phil and PhD.
• Family income should not exceed  INR 1,25,000  for students residing in  rural  areas.
• Family income should not exceed  INR 1,50,000  for students living in  urban  areas.

The students who are selected will receive the following rewards:

• Students pursuing  M.Phil  will receive  INR 25,000.
• The  PhD  students will receive  INR 30,000.

The social justice and empowerment department executes the post-matric scholarship for students from the  SC  category. The students pursuing a  graduation or post-graduation  course from a recognized educational institute or those pursuing  distance education  or  counting education through correspondence can apply for the scholarship. 

The eligibility criteria are as follows:

• The candidates should be domiciles of Gujarat.
• They should belong to the Scheduled Caste ( SC ) category.
• Students cannot repeat the same class.

The government will grant a  variable scholarship amount  to the selected students depending on their class level.

The department of social justice and empowerment under the Gujarat government provides the  post-matric scholarship  for the  female  students belonging to the Scheduled Tribe ( ST ) category. The female students studying in  class XI to postgraduate  level can apply for the scholarship. 

The eligibility criteria to apply for the post-matric scholarship for ST girl students are as follows:

• Students should be  residents of Gujarat.
• They should belong to the  ST  category.
• Students should study a  full-time course  in a recognized school, college or university.
• They should not be availing benefits from any other scholarship at the time of application.

Scholarship Rewards

The selected students will receive  variable monetary aid  from the state government, and the concerned authority will determine the amount based on family income and economic background.

The Gujarat students who belong to the  OBC  category and are pursuing an  undergraduate or postgraduate  degree can apply to the post-matric scholarship for OBC students. The department of social justice and empowerment of the state implements this scholarship. 

The students should meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the scholarship:

• They should be  domiciled  or permanent residents of  Gujarat.
• The students should belong to the  OBC  category.
• They should be studying an  undergraduate or postgraduate  course.
• Family income should not exceed  INR 1,00,000  per annum.

The selected applicants will receive the following benefits:

• Group - A  ( BSc, medicine, and engineering ): the government will grant  INR 750  for hostellers and  INR 350  for day scholars each month.
• Group - B  ( diploma courses in engineering, technical science, and postgraduate  courses): the government will pay  INR 510  for hostellers and  INR 335  for day scholars each month.
• Group - C  ( engineering, medicine, technical skill, and postgraduate certificate courses ): the government will pay  INR 400  for hostellers and  INR 210  for day scholars each month.
• Group - D  ( class XI and class XII  students): the government will pay  INR 260  for hostellers and  INR 160  for day scholars each month.

Application Process

The students can start the application process by registering on the portal. Upon registration, they will receive a scholarship username and password. This username and password can be used to apply for the scholarships and track the progress. The candidates can apply for scholarships only when it is active for application. Candidates can submit the application form and the supporting documents online. The institutes will verify the application forms and send them to the respective department's district officers.

Step 2  - They should click on 'login'.

Scholarships for disabled students

Group – E (students in classes XI and XII): The government will pay Rs 115 per month for boarders and Rs 65 per month for day students.

Food bill assistance for SEBC medical and engineering students

The department of social justice and empowerment provides food bill discounts to SEBC-category medical and engineering students. The students will receive monthly stipends to cover the food bill at the hostels.

Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Students should enrol in a medical or engineering program.
• Should be categorised as SEBC.
• The annual family income should not exceed Rs 250,000.
