Clean India Green India is a nationwide campaign launched by the Government of India on 2nd October 2014, the 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The campaign aims to clean all the towns and villages of India by October 2, 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

The campaign also aims to promote sanitation and hygiene practices among the people of India. To better grasp the importance of the Clean India Green India movement, we need to look back at its history.

India’s rapid industrialization and urbanization have led to significant environmental challenges. However, in recent decades, there has been a shift in thinking towards environmental protection and sustainable development. This shift is crucial for India’s future and the health of our planet.

We want to develop our country without harming the environment, so that future generations can also enjoy a clean and healthy planet.

The Indian government has launched a number of initiatives to promote clean energy, reduce pollution, and protect forests. There is also a growing awareness among Indian citizens about the importance of environmental protection.

Significance of Clean India Green India

1. environmental conservation.

Clean India Green India emphasizes how important it is to take care of our environment. It wants people to use things carefully, not waste them, and make sure we do not harm our natural world. This means we need to be smart about how we use things, like water and electricity, and not use too much.

We also need to be careful about our garbage and not throw it just anywhere. We should try to recycle and reuse things whenever we can.

Another important thing is to protect our plants and animals. India is home to many different kinds of plants and animals, and we want to make sure they stay safe. So, we plant more trees in a process called afforestation, and we look after our wildlife through wildlife conservation programs. This helps keep the balance in nature and makes sure our country stays green and full of life.

2. Public Health Improvement

A cleaner and greener India has a big effect on the health of the people. When we talk about cleaner and greener, it means making our surroundings and environment cleaner and having more green plants and trees. This is very good for public health, which means the health of all the people who live in India.

First, let’s talk about proper sanitation. This means having clean toilets and places for people to go to the bathroom. When we have good toilets and keep them clean, it helps to stop the spread of diseases. People do not get sick as often, and this makes them healthier.

Reducing pollution is also important. Pollution is when the air and water get dirty and harmful. It can make people sick, especially if they breathe in dirty air or drink polluted water. When we work to reduce pollution, the air we breathe and the water we drink become cleaner, which is better for our health.

Access to clean water is another important thing. When people have easy access to clean and safe water for drinking and washing, they stay healthier. They do not get sick from dirty water, and they can keep themselves and their surroundings clean.

So, when we make India cleaner and greener, we are also making sure that the people are healthier because they have good toilets, cleaner air and water, and they learn better ways to keep things clean. This is very important for the well-being, or health and happiness, of millions of people in India.

3. Economic Growth

Sustainable practices are good for the environment and also help the economy grow. When we put money into things like renewable energy (like solar and wind power), Eco-tourism (when people visit nature spots responsibly), and green technologies (like Eco-friendly machines), it creates more jobs.

People get to work in these new fields, and that is good for India’s economy. So, when we take care of our environment in smart ways, we not only help our planet but also make our country stronger and more prosperous. It is like doing good for nature and people at the same time.

Achievements

1. swachh bharat abhiyan.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which started in 2014, is like a big and important project. It has helped a lot to make our country cleaner and safer. This project is a big step towards making our country cleaner and healthier for everyone.

They built millions of toilets so that people do not have to go to the open fields. This is a big change because open defecation, which means going outside instead of using a toilet, has gone down a lot. So, now more people have access to clean and safe toilets, which is very good for our health and the environment.

2. Renewable Energy Revolution

In recent years, India has become a world leader in making clean energy from things like sunlight and wind. This is important because it helps the environment and gives more people access to energy.

India set big goals for making energy from the sun and wind. They built many solar panels to catch the sunlight and wind turbines to catch the wind’s power. By doing this, they made more electricity without causing much pollution.

Reducing pollution is essential because it helps keep the air and water clean, which is good for people’s health and the planet. When we burn fossil fuels like coal and oil for energy, it releases harmful stuff into the air, like carbon emissions. These emissions are bad for the environment and can make the Earth’s climate change.

3. Afforestation Initiatives

Efforts like the Green India Mission have been all about growing more trees and making our forests bigger in India. This is super important because it helps us in two big ways.

First, when we plant more trees, it means there are more trees to soak up the harmful gases, like carbon dioxide, from the air. These gases are like a warm blanket around the Earth, making it hotter, which we call climate change. But trees are like our helpers; they take these harmful gases away and cool down our planet.

Second, having more trees means more homes for animals and birds. When we cut down trees for things like houses or paper, these creatures lose their homes. So, by growing more trees, we give them a safe place to live.

So, the Green India Mission is like a superhero mission because it fights climate change and helps our animal friends at the same time! Planting trees is a simple but powerful way to make our world a better place.

1. Pollution Control

In India’s big cities, like Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata, there is a big problem with dirty air and water. This means the air we breathe and the water we use for drinking and other things are not clean. It is a serious problem.

Fixing these problems is not easy. We need strict rules or laws to make sure factories and cars do not make the air worse. We also need new and better ideas and machines to clean up the air and water. This means scientists and engineers must work together to invent and improve things.

But it is not only up to the government and experts. Everyone needs to understand why clean air and water are important. We all must do our part to save the environment. This means we need to learn about it and make good choices in our daily lives. Like not littering or wasting water, and using things that are better for the environment. If we all work together, we can make India’s air and water cleaner and healthier for everyone.

2. Waste Management

Effective waste management continues to be a big problem in India. Every day, a huge amount of garbage is produced, and we need to do a better job of recycling and disposing of it.

Many places in India do not have the right systems in place to handle all this waste. The places where we put our trash, like landfills and incinerators, need to be improved. These are like giant trash bins where waste is either buried in the ground or burned. Sometimes, these methods can harm the environment and people’s health if not done properly.

Recycling is another important part of managing waste. It is like giving things a second chance. We can recycle paper, plastic, glass, and many other materials to make new things. But not enough people are recycling, and we need better facilities to make it easier for everyone.

3. Population Pressure

India’s population is getting bigger very fast, and this puts a lot of pressure on our nature and the things we use to build and live. It is like trying to keep a balance between two very heavy things. This is a really hard job.

Imagine if you have a plate with some food on it. If you keep putting more and more food on it, the plate might break because it can’t hold everything. That is a bit like what’s happening with India’s population and our environment. We need to make sure we have enough for everyone to live comfortably, but we also have to take care of our environment, like the air we breathe and the water we drink.

So, it is a big challenge to make sure we keep our country developing and growing, but at the same time, we need to make sure we do not harm our nature too much.

Future Prospects

1. policy reforms.

India needs to create and follow strict rules to protect the environment. This means making laws that are very serious about taking care of nature. We should also make sure that in farming, factories, and how we move around (like in cars and buses), we do things that do not hurt the environment.

For example, in farming, we can use techniques that do not harm the land and water. In factories, we can use clean methods and not pollute the air or water. When we travel, we can use cleaner fuels or use public transport to reduce pollution.

By doing these things and making sure everyone follows these rules, we can make sure our environment stays safe and healthy. It is like taking care of our home so that it stays clean and nice for us and for the generations that come after us. This is really important for the well-being of our country and our planet.

2. Public Awareness

Education and awareness campaigns play a big role in helping people learn and understand how to take care of our environment. When we talk about education and awareness, we mean teaching and telling people about why It is important to protect nature and use resources wisely.

These campaigns can empower citizens, which means they make regular people like you and me feel like we can make a difference. Imagine learning about recycling, reducing waste, and using energy in a smarter way. When we know these things, we can start making choices that are good for the environment.

So, making sure that more people understand why It is important to take care of the environment and helping them learn how to do it should be a top priority. When we all work together, we can make our world a better place for everyone.

3. Green Technologies

Investing in green technologies and research means putting money into new ideas and ways of doing things that are good for the environment. It is like finding better and cleaner ways to make stuff and do work.

When we invest in green technologies, it helps us come up with smart and creative solutions to the problems that harm our planet. For example, we can discover new ways to make energy without polluting the air or water. We can also find ways to use fewer resources and make less waste when we produce things.

This is important because it not only helps the Earth but also makes businesses and industries better. They can save money by using less energy and materials. So, by investing in these green technologies and doing research, we can make our world cleaner, save money, and create new ways of doing things that are good for everyone. It is like finding the best and most eco-friendly path for our industries to follow.

4. International Cooperation

Working together with other countries on environmental problems, like finding ways to reduce the effects of climate change, can make India’s efforts stronger and help the whole world stay healthy. When countries join hands, they can share ideas, resources, and knowledge to solve big issues that affect the planet.

For example, India can work with other nations to reduce the pollution that makes our air and water dirty. By learning from each other, we can find better ways to protect our environment and make sure we have clean air to breathe and clean water to drink.

By teaming up, we can also slow down climate change, which is when the Earth gets hotter because of pollution. Slowing it down means we can have a more stable and sustainable world for ourselves and future generations. So, when India cooperates with other nations, It is not just good for India but for everyone on Earth.

“Clean India Green India is not just a catchy phrase; It is like a big dream that shows how much India cares about the environment and wants to develop in a way that does not harm it. India has been doing many things to make this dream come true, but there are still some tough challenges to face. To make India clean and green, lots of people need to work together, like the leaders who make the rules, the companies that make things, the communities where we live, and each of us as individuals.

Think of it like a journey. Right now, India is on a path toward this clean and green dream. But It is not just a destination; It is like a road that leads to a better future. If we keep going in the right direction, India will become a healthier place, where everyone can live better lives. We can do this by making good rules, working together, and taking care of our land, air, and water.

Essay on Clean India Green India in 1000-1500 Words

Clean India Green India is a national campaign launched by the Government of India to promote cleanliness and environmental sustainability across the country. The campaign was officially launched on October 2, 2014, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the aim of creating a clean and green India by the year 2019, coinciding with the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

The Clean India Green India campaign is based on the principles of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and aims to address the pressing issues of sanitation, waste management, and environmental degradation in India. The campaign focuses on creating awareness among the people about the importance of cleanliness and environmental sustainability, as well as encouraging them to actively participate in efforts to achieve these goals.

One of the key objectives of the Clean India Green India campaign is to improve sanitation and hygiene practices across the country. According to the World Health Organization, poor sanitation and lack of access to clean water are major contributors to the spread of diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, and typhoid. By promoting the construction of toilets and the adoption of proper sanitation practices, the campaign aims to reduce the incidence of waterborne diseases and improve the overall health and well-being of the population.

Another important aspect of the Clean India Green India campaign is waste management. India generates an enormous amount of waste every day, much of which ends up in landfills or is improperly disposed of in water bodies. This not only pollutes the environment but also poses a serious threat to public health. The campaign seeks to promote the segregation of waste at the source, as well as the recycling and proper disposal of waste to minimize its impact on the environment.

In addition to addressing sanitation and waste management issues, the Clean India Green India campaign also aims to promote environmental sustainability. India is home to a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna, but rapid urbanization and industrialization have taken a toll on the environment. Deforestation, air and water pollution, and climate change are some of the major environmental challenges facing the country today. The campaign seeks to raise awareness about these issues and encourage people to adopt eco-friendly practices such as tree planting, water conservation, and energy efficiency.

To achieve its goals, the Clean India Green India campaign relies on the active participation of the government, civil society, and the general public. The government has launched various initiatives and programs under the campaign, such as the Swachh Bharat Mission, which aims to make India open defecation-free by constructing millions of toilets in rural areas. The government has also introduced regulations and policies to promote waste segregation and recycling, as well as to reduce air and water pollution.

Civil society organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) play a crucial role in supporting the Clean India Green India campaign. These organizations work at the grassroots level to raise awareness about cleanliness and environmental sustainability, as well as to mobilize communities to take action. They organize cleanliness drives, tree planting campaigns, and other activities to promote the campaign’s objectives and engage people in the cause.

The success of the Clean India Green India campaign ultimately depends on the active participation of the general public. Every individual has a role to play in creating a clean and green India. By adopting simple practices such as proper waste disposal, water conservation, and tree planting, people can contribute to the campaign’s goals and help build a sustainable future for the country.

In conclusion, the Clean India Green India campaign is a noble initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness and environmental sustainability in India. By addressing issues such as sanitation, waste management, and environmental degradation, the campaign seeks to improve the health and well-being of the population, as well as protect the environment for future generations. With the collective efforts of the government, civil society, and the public, India can achieve the vision of a clean and green country that Mahatma Gandhi once dreamed of.

“Sanitation is more important than independence. Cleanliness and sanitation is an integral part of my way of living. My dream is total sanitation for all and “I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet”. Mahatma Gandhi

We are all familiar with the Adage <span style="font-size: 16px;">An adage is a brief piece of wisdom in the form of short, philosophical, and memorable sayings. The adage expresses a well-known and simple truth in a few words.</span> " data-gt-translate-attributes='[{"attribute":"data-cmtooltip", "format":"html"}]' tabindex=0 role=link>adage “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.” Nonetheless, we Indians have never adhered to adequate cleaning. There are numerous advantages to maintaining a clean environment and ourselves.

A healthy environment helps endangered animals avoid extinction. We will be able to breathe cleaner air and there will be fewer dangers. By maintaining a clean environment, we can ensure a consistent supply of food, water, and several natural resources, such as wood, for the production of a variety of products. Thus, greening India must become a rallying cry for all residents.

The government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, established the Clean India Green India mission in this effort. It is divided into two components: Clean India and Green India.

The Green India component <strong>component</strong><br/><strong>‘Component’ is a more technical word for a </strong><strong>part. The key objectives of this component <strong>component</strong><br/><strong>‘Component’ is a more technical word for a </strong><strong>part. Green India’s ultimate goal is to mitigate the country’s growing air pollution.

Many people in India have taken cleaning seriously since the start of the Swachh Bharat Mission. Every day, people began cleaning their surroundings and properly disposing of waste. Nonetheless, we observe a great deal of people who take hygiene for granted.

As part of the government’s Clean India Movement, it began sanctioning loans for the purpose of toilet construction. This aims to ensure that India is free of open defecation. Open defecation is a despised Indian practise that contributes to the uncleanliness and unhygiene of our surroundings.

As humans, we can take a few simple actions such as carrying a recycle bag with us when we leave the house and avoiding random rubbish disposal. This will lessen our reliance on disposable bags and ensure that we do not pollute the environment. Similarly, we may promote the use of reusable things such as bottles, mugs, and other items that help reduce trash. Additionally, verify that the waste you dispose of is properly disposed of.

Recycle recyclable items whenever feasible. Ensure that your garbage does not end up in the environment by placing a lid on your trash cans when they are outside. Composting kitchen trash at home reduces the amount of garbage transferred to landfills and the likelihood of certain products becoming marine debris.

Following sanitation is the preservation of the natural environment’s attractiveness. What could be more lovely than a landscape dotted with lush green trees, grass, and several other little plants?

The tagline Clean India Green India suggests that if we work to maintain our country clean, it would turn green as a result of our efforts to clean up our environment and surroundings. The Green India mission is entirely focused on the environment. The mission’s primary objective is to halt deforestation and increase the number of trees in India in order to mitigate pollution.

Green India also addresses the issue of climate change. The government hopes to minimise greenhouse emissions, which contribute to global warming and climate change, by planting trees. Additionally, the Indian government has restructured its economic and energy policies to be more environmentally friendly.

We Must Take Initiatives

The government can play a significant role in this regard. It must act rigorously and take preventative steps against deforestation. It may take activities such as establishing a forest belt around each city or town. Finally, through mass forestation campaigns, we can all make a difference.

Climate Change War

Thus, Clean India Green India is an Indian government-led campaign against climate change.

Recently, several state governments took the lead in the fight against climate change by prohibiting the sale of firecrackers during Diwali.

Without a clean environment, humans will never be healthy. Individually, we have the power to make a significant difference, and collectively, we have the potential to transform the world. Once our India gets cleaner and more environmentally friendly, it will benefit not only us, but also future generations. They are able to live in a more clean and healthy environment. It would be the greatest gift we could give them. Let us work together to create a better, cleaner, and greener India.

Clean India Green India #2

It is called the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan , and its main goals are to reduce or eliminate open defecation by building individual cluster and community toilets, to convert the insanitary toilets to flush toilets, to get rid of hand-dug sludge, and to set up an accountable and transparent system for monitoring the work of the government. It was a goal of the Indian government to make the country “Open Defecation Free” (ODF) by October 2.

In the Clean India, Green India programme, children and youth, the people who will be in charge of the country in the future, play a big role in making things better. Clean India is said to be a path to Green India. The next step after keeping things clean is to keep and protect the greenery. There is a need at this time and place to protect the beauty and purity of the natural world around us. This job is a lot of work.

It is hard to believe that CLEAN INDIA GREEN INDIA is a real thing because one can see the bright future of India. But the goal is a long way away from the real world. What we need are not just new plans, but also strong and forceful implementations of them, if necessary. As a citizen, you have a strong sense of duty and duty to be a role model for Green and Clean India. They must follow the goals and objectives that the Indian government has set out for them to achieve.

Clean India Green India #3

It is the moral obligation of Indian citizens to make their country clean and green. Subsequently, the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched to transform India into a clean India via the efforts of all residents residing within the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi invites everyone to take part in the Abhiyan at any moment. Following that, other initiatives are done to educate and motivate other ordinary citizens who are the true heroes of a clean India. For the mission’s development, significant steps are also taken by students from schools, colleges, universities, and other educational institutions, as well as by country’s youth engaged in daily routine jobs and other economic operations. All of the initiatives undertaken by prominent people, students, and adolescents in the country have aided and encouraged the general population to participate actively in the campaign. Indians probably pay a lot of attention to cleaning themselves. However, the same Indians don’t care much about the environmental cleanliness. Essay on Clean India

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi on 2 October 2014. It was launched to promote cleanliness in society. Till now, it has successfully covered 4041 cities across India. It is one of the important campaigns launched by the Government of India. The ultimate objective is to maintain a healthy and clean environment. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is also known as Clean India Mission or Clean India Drive. It is a national campaign where states are also a part of the mission.

The Concept Behind Such Programs

Cleanliness is our right, and it is also essential whether it is our home, public areas or workplaces. It is one of the basic needs to stay civilised. Therefore, the mission aims to eradicate open defecation throughout the country. Lots of significant efforts have been made since the commencement on October 2, 2014.

As per the statistics, the Government of India has built more than 10 crores of toilets across the country. The motive is to promote proper sanitation and stay healthy. Till now, 36 Indian states have been made defecation free, and the mission is truly on the way to success. It has improved the quality of living among people from many states.

Our government is leaving no stones unturned only to make sure that India becomes cleaner and more hygienic. The scheme has also made people more responsible for sanitation practices. Therefore, we must do our bit to help with the noble mission.

Impacts on Rural Areas

As the campaign was launched to make our country healthier and cleaner, the majority of the missions have had a great impact on the rural areas. In most villages, sanitation programs used to be a far-reaching concept due to the absence of proper toilets. To this day, with the government initiative, things have changed to a better picture both on the rural and urban scale.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has helped small towns in the maintenance drives when it comes to streets and other places. It is not just about our houses, but also to maintain and following the practices when it comes to public places like parks and other areas of tourist attractions. Maintenance of cleanliness not only helps in the improvement of the standard living condition but also provides a positive image when foreigners visit our country.

A Clear Determination of the Objectives

The primary objective of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is to spread awareness of cleanliness and let people understand its importance. The motto is to provide basic sanitation facilities, liquid and solid waste disposal systems, safe and adequate drinking water and supply to overall village cleanliness. The action plan has been laid by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. A lot of unhygienic approaches have been controlled after 2019. It also has the plan of implementing a complete Open Defecation Free India.

Highlights of Action Plans :

Improvement in the growth percentage of toilets from 3% to 10%.

Increasing the construction of toilets from 14000 to 48000 per day.

Launching a State Level or National Level media campaign through mobile devices, audio-visual, telephone and local programmes.

Involving school children in the activities for spreading the awareness of sanitation, water and hygiene.

The campaign also aims to conduct open sessions and discussions on hygiene and menstrual health, along with the establishment of eco-wash clubs. It does not focus on the problems of pollution, rather points out the side effects of the same and make people more cautious to prevent future difficulties.

Cleanliness is an essential part of everyone's life and should be practised as a habit. India launched the Clean India Campaign to make our country more hygienic and better. This effort is known as the "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" among Indians. The initiative raises cleanliness awareness among the citizens. As a result, individuals might begin cleaning their environment and inspire others to do the same.

Speech On Clean India And Green India - 10 Lines, Short and Long Speech

Cleanliness should be an essential part of everyone's life and should be practised as a habit.

Many Indians are afflicted with numerous ailments due to improper trash disposal.

In Clean India And Green India, the waste management department assists in implementing a waste segregation system.

It is important to note that Clean India and Green India are two different campaigns launched by the government of India.

The Clean India campaign focuses mainly on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which aims to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country's cities, towns, and rural areas. At the same time, Green India focuses on increasing the green cover of the country by promoting afforestation and reforestation.

The Clean India And Green India initiative raises cleanliness awareness among our citizens.

Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, launched this campaign on Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, October 2nd.

The campaign's primary goal was to eliminate open defecation in every region of India.

Let us all pledge to take action and raise awareness for a Clean India and Green India, as it is only through collective efforts that we can achieve a cleaner and greener nation.

Together, we can make a difference and create a better future for ourselves and future generations.

Clean India, Green India is a campaign that aims to make India a clean and green country. The initiative was launched by the government in 2014 with the aim of creating a cleaner and healthier environment for all citizens.

Aim Of The Campaign

One of the main focuses of the campaign is to improve sanitation and hygiene in the country. This includes building toilets and promoting their use of them, particularly in rural areas. The campaign also aims to educate people about the importance of personal and community hygiene, as well as the risks of open defecation.

Another important aspect of the campaign is to improve the country's air and water quality. This includes measures to reduce pollution from industrial and vehicular sources, as well as efforts to clean and protect rivers and other bodies of water.

The initiative also aims to promote greenery and protect the country's natural resources. This includes planting trees, protecting forests, and promoting sustainable agriculture and forestry practices.

We all know that a clean and green India is beneficial not only for our own health and well-being but also for the health of the planet as a whole. Let's all work together to make India a cleaner and greener place for future generations.

The Indian government has launched a nationwide initiative called Clean India Green India. Father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, also envisioned a clean India. A country is made up of its citizens. Therefore, changing public perceptions of the fight against sanitation is crucial. Implementing change should be done so logically. Panchayats and rural communities' needs for sanitation should be prioritised in budgets and programs, which should be adequate. Every Indian citizen should envision a clean, green India. The mission is the ideal development movement for India because it encourages the country's sustainable growth.

Advantages Of Green India's Clean India Campaign

If we keep ourselves and our surroundings clean, we are less likely to get sick. Diseases like malaria and dengue fever are spread by the unclean environment around us. If we want to lower the likelihood that we'll get sick, we must maintain a clean, healthy environment. It is good for the mind to keep things tidy.

By constructing personal, communal, and public restrooms, the campaign has reduced open defecation. The outdated, unclean restrooms have been replaced with flush toilets. Through behavioural modifications and connecting people to sanitation and public health programs, it has been made easier to develop good sanitation practices. People now use methods for recycling, reusing, and disposing of solid waste.

What Can Be Done?

Here are some strategies we employ to adopt a greener, cleaner lifestyle:

We must stop using plastic in our homes and switch to wood-based materials instead because it is one of the major contributors to environmental degradation. We must also substitute jute or paper bags for plastic ones to lessen plastic's negative effects on the environment.

We can always recycle and reuse items to reduce waste and environmental pollution. For instance, outdated and discarded items can be used as décor and other items in homes and workplaces.

By printing on both sides of the page, using hand dryers in place of paper towels, and using reusable items in place of toilet paper and disposable towels, we can reduce our environmental impact. To maximize the amount of greenery, we also need to grow trees and other plants near our houses.

To achieve cleanliness, we need to make good use of trash cans. Dustbins are a better option for trash disposal than streets and roads.

To achieve community sprucing up and landscaping, awareness-raising campaigns must be run. The benefits of cleanliness and the natural world must be made known to the public.

Numerous Indians now place a high value on cleanliness thanks to the Swachh Bharat Mission. People began to properly dispose of their trash and clean up their surroundings daily. Climate change is another issue that Green India covers. By promoting the growth of trees, the government hopes to reduce the number of greenhouse gases contributing to climate change and global warming. The Indian government also changed its economic and energy policies to make them more environmentally friendly.

We also cannot deny the fact that the time is changing; the people of our country are more concerned with cleanliness than before. Some credit goes to the present government as they launched a campaign called also called as Clean India Campaign.

The purpose of launching this campaign was to make our country clean and garbage free. Also, is still a significant issue in rural areas of our country. Therefore, under this campaign, making toilets in every rural area and house and making our country free from open defecation is one of the campaign's primary goals.

Keeping our country clean and making our country greener are two essential factors for the environment, and keeping our country and planet green is just as important as cleaning our country. We can see that is being done at a considerable level, slowly leading us to danger. It is not unknown to anyone how is becoming a significant threat to the lives of humans as well as animals. Deforestation is not only causing temperature changes and global warming, but we can also see a massive increase in the level in our country. Trees and plants help in reducing pollution through the process of by absorbing the which is present in the atmosphere and reducing the .

The government is also being supported in promoting greenery or saving trees and has started a campaign named It was approved by the Indian The reason behind the launch of this campaign was to increase the quantity and quality of the Indian Forests by planting trees and also by preserving the present trees. The idea behind this is to reduce the carbon dioxide from the atmosphere with the help of trees.

Now the question arises: Why is it important to keep our surroundings and country clean and green?

Here, in this article, we will discuss it and also learn about "Clean India Green India" in detail.

You must have already seen paintings related to cleanliness on Railway Stations, Roadside walls or any Public place in many cities. It is also a part of this mission, the purpose behind making these paintings is to spread as much as possible awareness about cleanliness. The "Clean India mission" is a nationwide movement by the government of India, causing to clean the country's streets, roads, rail network and communications. This mission was launched by our Prime Minister, When he became the Prime minister of India, he observed that the people of this country must be inspired by cleanliness, and as a result, he launched this mission. The mission was launched on . We all know this is also the birth date of our Bapu, i.e. , who also used to inspire people for cleanliness. Gandhi Ji once said, "Sanitation is more important than independence". These words of Gandhiji led the foundation for the Clean India Mission. Gandhiji not only fought for freedom but also encouraged people toward a clean country.

We know that people usually tend to follow their leader; their leader is an idol for them. Narendra Modi did what a true leader should do if he wants people to join him in any campaign. He took the initiative and picked up the broom and cleaned the road. Following him as a leader, about from different societies cleaned the streets. The adults, children and everyone else took part in the cleanliness activities.

As we discussed earlier, the main objectives behind the launch of this mission were to finish open defecation, mainly in rural areas, and to change the people's habit of throwing waste here and there. Open defecation can cause diseases as it pollutes the environment. Making toilets in rural areas could solve this problem, which is why the government is taking proper steps to make toilets. The government is also granting financial help to the people to make toilets.

The success of this mission will bring a clean and healthy environment to the rural as well as urban areas.

Our responsibility is to keep our surroundings clean, including in public places such as parks, tourist attractions and public toilets. We should avoid throwing garbage anywhere on the roads or in other areas. Instead, we should use dustbins to keep such places clean. The best way to generate this habit is that we should start a cleanliness drive in our house, kitchen, room and society. The situation and time demand are to protect the environmental beauty and purity of the surroundings before it is too late.

The steps we can take is that when we go to the market, we do not use plastic bags but carry a bag that can be recycled and is not harmful to the environment. Plastics are something that may take hundreds or thousands of years to decompose. For example, a straw made of plastic takes around 200 years, a cup made of foam plastic takes approximately 50 years, and a plastic bottle takes about 450 years to decompose fully.

It has been proved that Plastics are something our bodies cannot digest; the matter of concern is that plastics have entered the food chain. Most packaged foods use plastic bags because of their durability and strength. Likewise, plastics are also used for many other things. However, most of these plastics usually end up in the rivers or oceans, where they break into tiny particles and enter the heart of the food chain, i.e. And from there, through the food chain (such as seafood), it travels back to humans, which is very harmful to us and may cause cancer.

Apart from this, if the plastic is thrown away or left on the soil, the cultivating characteristics of the soil deteriorate. Also, it can pollute the groundwater to some extent. Therefore, wastes should also be disposed of in the right manner. There is a need for a proper plan to reduce the pollution caused by the garbage, but more important is that we strictly implement or follow the agenda too. If India becomes cleaner and greener, it will not just be beneficial for us but our future generation also.

According to scientists, the reason behind the was fleas and rats, which were infected with bacteria. The streets of were not clean, and as a result, the rats thrived in the streets of Europe. During that time, there were not even proper in many cities of Europe, and cleanliness was lacking. We must ensure that something like a plague never happens again, which is why the Clean India mission has been launched.

was launched in February 2014. The mission was launched with a motive to protect, restore and increase India's decreasing forest cover. Along with that, this mission was launched as a response to climate change by combining adaptation and mitigation resources. Green India Mission, also known as National Mission for a Green India, was established under the

It is one of the eight missions launched under India's action plan for addressing the sudden climate changes. This mission recognizes the influence of a forest on the environment as well as on dependent communities.

This mission has been launched for with an outlay of around

National Mission for a Green India has some major goals; they are as follows-

(MHA) along with maintaining the quality of existing green cover. by 50 to 60 million tons in the year 2020, including the hydrological services and biodiversity and provisioning services like fuel, fodder, and timber and non-timber forest produce. India's current forest cover is 75 million hectares; for the carbon sequestration target, 30 million hectares of additional land would be required. of scrub, cold deserts, abandoned mining areas, mangroves, shifting cultivation areas and ravines.

However, in 2017-18, only around Rs. was allocated for the scheme, which is grossly insufficient.

According to reports in 2015-16 and 2016-17, GIM missed its target by 34% as instead of the targeted 67,956 hectares, only 44,749 hectares of land got green cover.

Under this mission, Afforestation was done with the aim of increasing the number of trees, but the soil and weather conditions were not considered. Also, were planted, which made environmental problems worse, resulting in droughts and biodiversity loss.

Due to the a drastic increase in our can be seen. Industries and vehicles release gases like Carbon dioxide and other exhaust gases; these are called These gases are the primary reason behind the as they trap the heat from the sun.

What is interesting here is that the greenhouse effect is also necessary for life and is a natural phenomenon. Without this effect, the earth would not be able to capture the heat and release it quickly, because of which the earth would freeze soon and not be suitable for life.

But, if these greenhouse gases are present in large quantities in the earth's atmosphere, the earth would trap excess heat, resulting in a global temperature rise. The rise in the has many repercussions, like the melting of the Consequently, it will imbalance the ecosystem and cause endangered species to become extinct and a significant threat to human life.

To avoid all these repercussions, it was necessary to launch a mission or a plan that helps not only India but the entire world as it is a topic of global concern. As a result of the need, Green India Mission was launched by the Indian government.

You might wonder how this mission helps reduce the carbon footprint. As we discussed above, Green India Mission is about increasing the quantity and quality of forest areas in the country. Trees absorb the carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through the process of and this is how it will help us in reducing the greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, which will result in the reduction of the greenhouse effect.

Cleanliness is the introduction of purification in our lifestyle and the removal of impurities from our environment. For any nation, Greenness and cleanliness are vital to its development. The cleanliness and greenery of any country attract people from other countries to visit that country and enjoy nature. It not only increases the country's pride but also benefits it financially through increased tourism. The government has launched missions related to cleanliness and greenery. Still, now it is our responsibility to strictly implement necessary strategies in our lives and help our country in sustainable development.

The entire landscape of India is full of diverse natural beauties such as mountains, plateaus deserts, forests, grasslands, plains, beaches, rivers, lakes and so on. However, this beauty is tarnished by the litter all around us. Thus, in this article, we provide a Clean India Green India Essay 500 words and Clean India Green India Essay 150.

A Clean India Green India Essay 500 words is as follows

Maintaining cleanliness is one of the most important parts of maintaining a healthy life. If we are surrounded by litter, filth, and waste, our health deteriorates productivity decreases, increases stress, reduces beauty etc. It also paints an unclean place in a bad picture.

India is developing at an unbelievable speed. Many things, products and services that we enjoy today were unimaginable a few decades ago. But, it has also led to our country becoming extremely unclean due to the huge amount of waste generated each day. The streets all around are full of litter and a strong foul odour can be smelled around that place. India has also performed poorly in the Global Environment Performance Index, falling to 177 position worldwide.

Most of the waste out there is produced by human activity. It consists of both biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. However, waste generation is not a problem here; it is the careless behaviour of the people that is a problem. Littering is done on quite a large scale in India. Indians usually carelessly throw away waste on the streets in order to keep their houses and shops clean.

Such behaviour by people leads to many problems. First, it makes our streets unhygienic, and many times, too dirty to even walk. Second, it harms stray animals such as dogs and cows, who consume waste such as plastic and paper which harms their bodies. Third, it makes the streets look ugly, decreasing tourism. Fourth, litter also mixes with the soil to affect plant growth in a negative way. Waste mixes in the soil and prevents water from pouring down, hence decreasing the water supply for plants and trees.

It is important to not only keep our cities and country clean but also green. Indian cities rank among the top most polluted cities in the world. Increasing the green cover – a term used to describe the land covered by trees and plants– will increase the level of oxygen in the cities. Lately, various new measures such as plant walls and vertical gardens are used to improve beauty while adding oxygen to the air. Also, trees and plants are planted on the sides of the streets for a long.

Such creative measures are also good for the economy. They increase the beauty of a place, thus attracting more tourists and boosting the economy. They have also created demands for various items such as plants, pots, pot stands etc., thus creating jobs.

The Indian government has launched many initiatives and schemes promoting Clean India Green India, such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan– for the overall cleanliness of the country, Namami Gange (National Mission for Clean Ganga) Programme, Green Skill Development Programme, Toilets before Temples. Additionally, many Parliamentary acts have been passed to help increase green cover, such as Compensatory Afforestation Act. However, the greatest impact can be produced only if the people of India behave responsibly.

A Clean India Green India Essay 150 words is as follows

Our country is a beautiful country, with mountains, beaches, deserts, plains, rivers etc found in abundance. But, as a developing country, India produces a lot of waste. But some waste does not end up in the waste dumps, but on the streets. This is a result of careless behaviour by the people who litter on the streets and make the cities dirty. Such careless behaviour not only makes the streets unclean but tarnishes the image of India.

Keeping India Clean and Green helps us in many ways. It makes people healthy, increases hygiene, and increases beauty. Thus, we must do our bit to keep our cities and country clean and green. We must not litter around and plant more trees and plants. We must also use dustbins to throw waste and learn to differentiate between solid and liquid waste. India can become Clean and Green only when the citizens become responsible.

Sample 1: Green India Mission Essay in 150+ words

The Green India Mission has revitalised the country’s forests. Initiated under the supervision of the Indian government, the project aims to make the nation greener and healthier. It combats climate change by planting more trees and preserving our green forests.

The Green India Mission has several important goals. The first goal is to plant trees on bare land and make existing forests denser. This helps clean our air and provides animals with a safer habitat. Secondly, the mission creates jobs for people living near forests. Growing and selling forest products like herbs and fruit helps local people earn money for a balanced livelihood.

The people engaged with the mission are busy planting millions of trees across the country. New parks are created, and streets are lined with trees under the mission. Rural areas are provided with assistance to help farmers grow trees along with crops. This method of smart farming, called agroforestry, gives farmers extra income and helps them protect their soil.

The Green India Mission also aims to teach how to take care of forests. It helps villagers prevent forest fires and the illegal cutting down of trees. By involving local communities, the mission ensures that people understand the importance of forests in their lives and for the environment.

Sample 2: Green India Mission Essay in 500+ words

The government of India started ¨Green India Mission¨ in 2014 to increase the cover of forest from 21.54 percent to 33 percent of its total land area. The mission is an integral part of the National Action Plan on Climate Change and aligns with profound global efforts to save the environment, such as the Paris Agreement.  With an estimated budget of  ₹46,000 crores (approximately $6.2 billion). The mission aims to transform the landscape of India over a 10-year period.

Goals of the Green India MissionThe Green India Mission has several important goals. Let us look at what it wants to achieve:

The motive behind the Green India mission is to increase the forest cover by 5 million hectares and improve the quality of the forest cover by another 5 million hectares. Here it should be noted that for perspective, the 5 million hectares are about the size of the country of Bhutan.

The mission works to enhance the density of the existing forests. It also targets an increase from the current average of 0.5 to 0.7 tons of carbon per hectare per year.

By 2020 the mission of ¨Green India Mission¨ aimed to improve ecosystem services like carbon sequestration by 100 million tonnes annually. The aim was successful in taking away a part and making the environment more sustainable.

Yet another target of the mission is to provide direct benefits to 3 million forest-dependent households, focusing on sustainable livelihoods and the conservation of forests. Key Projects and Initiatives of the Mission

To reach the goals of Green India Mission many different projects are running successfully across the country. In many states, the mission is organizing events like massively planting trees. Thousands of people come together to plant trees in a single day to make the event and mission successful. These events not only add more trees but also teach people about the importance of forests.

Further, the mission also works with the villages to protect the nearby villages. This community-based forest management teaches the villagers how to take care of the forest and use its resources wisely. This method of protection helps the villagers as well as the forest mutually.

Another exciting project that is running successfully under the Green India Mission is the creation of green corridors. These corridors are strips of forest that connect the larger forest areas. The implementation of the project helps the animals to survive safely between forests.

Yet another lucrative sub-project of the Green India Mission is running successfully in the state of Uttarakhand. Here, the mission has helped in planting over 6 million trees. These newly planted trees have prevented the soil from washing away in the hilly areas and have also provided homes for many animals.

Green India Mission not only helped the trees and animals, but it has also turned the lives of people far better. The mission helps to create jobs in rural areas by providing them with work in nurseries for growing young trees. This helps them fulfill their monetary needs and helps them connect with nature.

Learning new skills like how to make products from forest materials, like basket making or preparing herbal medicine, makes them earn money while using the forest sustainably.

The Green India Mission is the foundation of the environmental strategy of the Government of India. While there are still many challenges, comparatively, there has been more significant and impressive progress.

As per the report of India State of Forest Report, there was a successful increase in the cover of the forest by 1,540 km between 2019 to 2012. With continuous effort and participation from all sectors, especially the youth, India is on the way to achieving further more ambitious targets. Achieving these targets will certainly contribute significantly to the global climate and livelihoods as well.

Yogi Adityanath (Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh), in March 2017, has banned chewing of paan, paan masala, gutka and other tobacco products (especially in the duty hours) in the government offices to ensure cleanliness. The Indian Prime Minister's Council on National Change has given the Green India Campaign national approval. Combating climate change and its detrimental effects is the main goal of this endeavour. By establishing new forests, this objective is achieved by boosting carbon dioxide sequestration rates. In essence, this means that the carbon dioxide is taken in from the air and stored by trees, lowering the planet's carbon footprint.
