Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an in-person interview. The interview will test candidates on basics and will be within the undergraduate curriculum / GATE syllabus.

  • How are campus placements for MTech (ECE) students? What are the areas in which students can start a career after MTech in (ECE)?

MTech (ECE) is a new master’s program in ECE, IISc, started in 2021. It contains three focus areas that are impactful in designing the next generation of communication systems: 1. Communications & Networking

2. Signal and Information Sciences

3. High Frequency Circuits and Systems.

The program is broad and offers students to specialise in different areas mentioned above leading to a wide array of specialised job opportunities. Some example areas in which one can start a career after the program include modem systems, wireless baseband systems, RF/Analog IC design, multimedia (camera/video) systems, machine learning systems, data scientist roles, and several more.

The placement opportunities are as good as other leading institutes in the country and the world. If you do well in the program, you can be sure of a good position in top companies with attractive pay packages.

  • What is the difference between MTech (ECE) and other programs such as MTech (Microelectronics and VLSI), MTech (Signal Processing), MTech (Artificial Intelligence) and MTech (DESE)?

MTech (ECE) is the flagship program of the ECE department at IISc. The ECE department also participates in three other masters programs: MTech (Microelectronics and VLSI), MTech (Signal Processing), MTech (Artificial Intelligence). The difference among these programs are primarily in the core courses of these programs. The MTech (ECE) program positions students to make impactful contributions in industry, academia in the broad area of communications. However, there are several aspects of communications that overlap with VLSI design, signal processing and artificial intelligence. Thus all these programs interact with one another and students from several of these programs often take similar courses.

The MTech (ECE) program offers the flexibility to start from basics of communications and explore interactions with several related areas. At least half the course requirement in MTech (ECE) consists of electives. Thus, the students have the flexibility to choose from a wide array of other courses in the institute in consultation with the faculty advisor.

  • Suppose I join MTech (ECE), but after a term perhaps I wish to switch to Signal Processing/VLSI. Is there a way?

As mentioned earlier, there is enough flexibility in the MTech (ECE) program that allows a student to take signal processing or VLSI design related courses and specialise in these areas as part of the MTech (ECE) program. The only requirement in the MTech ECE program involves taking the core courses and a few other courses that satisfy the breadth requirement of different areas. On successful completion of the program an MTech (ECE) degree will be awarded. It must be reiterated that most reputed recruiters look for acquired skills than nomenclature of the degree.

  • Do I get to choose an area/advisor for MTech project? What is the procedure?

The project forms an important part of the masters program at IISc. The advisor-advisee assignment for the projects is done towards the end of the first semester taking into account the area of interest of the student and mutual consent of the faculty and the student. Please visit this  page  for current areas of interest and specializations of faculty members of the Department.  Projects are allotted using a  set procedure .

  • How exactly is MTech (Res) different from MTech? Does one get to do more research?

MTech (Research) is a research program while MTech is a course based program. Thus the course requirements of MTech (Research) are much less than that of the MTech program. Also, thesis requirements of the MTech (Research) program correspond to those that are typically desired in peer reviewed high quality publications. The project requirements of the MTech program are slightly different and can be achieved through research work, publications, interesting prototypes, system building etc. The scope of work is usually decided based on mutual discussions between the student and the faculty advisor.

  • Can I take courses from other departments? Is a course common for students from Masters, PhD, undergrad, other departments? How are they graded considering the wide difference in background?

In MTech (ECE), apart from the core courses and the breadth requirement courses (which roughly account for six courses), the remaining courses (roughly another 6) are electives, which can be taken from within or outside the department. It is common for courses to be taken by both Masters and PhD students. We usually observe that Masters students do as well as the PhD students. The background of the student does not matter after the first semester. In the first semester, the courses are taught assuming very minimal background.

  • Suppose I have a job after Bachelors in ECE domain; what does the Masters programme at ECE add to my career profile? What are some advantages?

A master’s degree (ECE) offers to strengthen fundamental concepts in advanced areas like communications, signal processing, high frequency circuits, machine learning, etc. A bachelor’s degree often does not provide enough training to contribute to cutting edge work in these areas. A master’s degree also provides a stronger foundation training such that one is able to seamless move across areas easily during the course of professional career growth. Our master’s students also end up as leaders in their technical teams by virtue of their ability to impact technology in industry.

  • Having joined for Masters if I wish to convert/continue for a PhD what is the procedure?

Masters students have the option to convert to the PhD program after the first or second semester based on their satisfying a minimum performance criterion during their first year. In this case, the student is treated like a direct PhD student, i.e. students who have been admitted to the PhD program with only a bachelors degree.  A graduating student is given both an MTech and a PhD degree in this case.

  • What are some Masters projects? What do they involve?

MTech ECE is a new program in which MTech CN has been significantly modified. An example list of masters projects for the MTech (ECE) students floated last year is  Available Here  (list of projects)

  • How different is MTech (Microelectronics & VLSI) different from MTech at DESE? Why was cut-off GATE score so high for MTech (Microelectronics & VLSI) whereas it appears to be quite relaxed for MTech at DESE?

MTech at DESE has been selecting students through a rigorous interview process. On the other hand, MTech (Microelectronics & VLSI) program used to have a small number of seats and was admitting qualified students directly without an interview. Since 2019 the strength of the program has been increased, and an interview process has been initiated.

  • What are the active research areas under ECE?

The faculty in the ECE department broadly work in the areas of communication and networks, signal processing, machine learning, microelectronics, photonics, RF and microwave engineering and cyber-physical systems. Please look up individual  faculty pages for a more current view of topics they work on.

What are chances of getting into foreign universities for higher studies after an MTech in IISc?

An MTech degree from IISc can significantly improve your chances of getting admitted to a top ranked doctoral programs across the world.

  • What will be the course curriculum of MTech (ECE)?

Please see above for details on the course structure. There is a total requirement of 36 course credits consisting of 9 core course credits and another nine credits from three stream pools: a. Communication and Networks, b. Signal and Information Sciences, c. High Frequency Circuits and Systems. The rest of the 18 credits can be taken from ECE or other departments in consultation with the faculty advisor. As you can see, the curriculum offers plenty of flexibility to take courses in other areas such as AI/ML, Data Structures, Signal Processing, VLSI Circuits, Antennas, etc. The project contributes to an additional 28 credits. The project offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful problems and latest techniques.

  • Suppose I get admitted to the MTech (ECE) program and wish to train in emerging areas like AI. What can I do?

Several courses such as Random Processes (core course), Matrix Theory (stream pool course), and Foundations of Machine Learning (stream pool course) in MTech ECE are also taken as core courses by students of MTech AI. Thus, students get trained in basics that are relevant across different areas. MTech (ECE) students will seamlessly be able to work on various AI applications.

  • What kind of student life can I expect at IISc?

IISc will offer you a memorable student experience during your stay here. You can take a look  here  for some excerpts on student perspectives.

  • How does the MTech (ECE) program differ from the MTech (Online) program in ECE?

The MTech (Online) program in ECE is meant for professionals working in the industry. These students need to be sponsored by the organisation in which they are currently employed and need to apply through the organisation. On the other hand, the MTech (ECE) program is a full-time residential program where classes are ideally held offline.

  • Are there any entrepreneurship opportunities that one can pursue at IISc?

The society for Innovation and Development (SID) and AI and Robotics Technology Park (ARTPARK) at IISc offer several opportunities to translate ideas into technical products.

  • In which COAP round will MTech (ECE) offers be announced?

A vast majority of offers will be announced in the first round itself. Very minor additions can be expected in subsequent rounds.

  • Can we come to the interviews with parents/siblings?

Certainly, they can accompany you when you visit the department for the interview.

  • What is the highest/average package for MTech ECE batch graduating in 2023?

Highest package was around Rs. 49 lakhs per annum while the average was around Rs. 33 lakhs per annum.

REVIEW OF NITK MTech ECE Department

Placement experience :.

After 2nd sem student gets eligible for campus placement. In last sem Samsung ,Qualcomm , analog devices, Texas instruments, AMD,Marvel,ARM , Cdot so many companies visited for the placement, highest package was arround 35 lpa which is offered by analog devices, profile was analog engineer average package is near about 15-18 lpa . Till now 50-60 % student get placed . In 2022 the placement percentage was 80-90 % due to inflation the companies deceases recruitments . That's why now our college is allowing for 11 months internship that's why in our batch almost 60% student gets the internship offer which was less at the time of our seniors so may be this year placement percentage gets increased to 80-90 % .. my plan is simple just take the placement from the campus as 60% student already gets the internship so there will be less completion so there will be more chances to get the placement

Internships Opportunities :

So for my field you will get so many opportunities. The companies visited for digital design, analog engineer, communication engineer's profiles. Companies are Samsung's, AMD, ARM MARVEL, TEXAS INSTRUMENTS, ets which offers a stipend near about 40000-60000 per month . so I did my project in digital design. In which I have implemented the verilog code in FPGA board . It was hardware implementation which is related to real life problems you can do so many many project using FPGA board for that I have used Intel qurtuz prime software which is used for verilog coding by using this software we will able to pin planning and dump the file into the FPGA board

MTech Admissions through GATE.

Mtech Review of ISM Dhanbad

The placement senerio of this college is normal ,but if you study above average then you will get a good job , percentage of btech is 60 and of mtech is 40 ,here highest package is around 60 lakhs and average package is around 15 lakhs , students become eligible after one year of course complition

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum is little bit easier here compared to top IIT like iisc banglore, iit Delhi, iit kanpur, IIT Bombay etc, here faculty have good knowledge of their respective subject and research area ,here exam is done with time mentioned in the academic calendar

Review of IIT ISM DHANBAD

Campus is big enough.. it's a 450 acre campus and lush green.. Library facility is one of the best in the institute it is a 7 storey building that can accommodate nearly 2000 students at a time.. it's open day and night

Many companies visited the campus this year like Intel, Texas Instruments, Tata motors, KPIT, Bajaj, analog devices, SLB and many PSU's like CDOT and CDAC they all provided salaries in the range of 9 Lakhs to 50 Lakhs

MTech admission process

Now from 2024 batch, mtech in ece have specialization, students faculty ratio depends on the class strength, as many subject have even less than 10 students and at the same time many subject have more than 80 students Faculty qualifications are mixed Term exam were timely as there is college calendar and in this everything is written and all the things are happens according, Deficulty if exam depends on the faculty

Here campus placement is good, many students convert their internship into full time and many got full time job opportunity after competition of one year of course, students become eligible for placement test and after cleared the test appear for interview and then got placement offer

Review first College Next

Many companies will come to the college to recruit students per year 60% of students will be placed.

Every year there will be a fest named Tech Fest. For every weekend there will be some programs will be conducted to encourage the student's talent. Every year college will conduct the Branch games. there will be a sports club, music club, and dance club.

A Review regarding VIIT

I have a passion for the current technology and I am willing to work on this technology for the growth and development of our country in technology aspects. The faculty in the college was okay and the teaching would be a little bit better the qualification of the faculty was MTech and Ph.D. and the teaching method is a fully digital mode which we can understand better, this is the positive thing actually. The term exams are a little bit difficult to score good marks compared to Final semester exams.

Yuva Tarang and Vista Fests are the two main fests that are simply superb and the leaving them apart some freshers and farewells also be there. This type of fest brings young talent out and it helps a lot for those who have tons of talent when it comes to sports, they are conducted twice or thrice per year and prizes will also be given to the participant. Go green campaign conducted by the students.

Good enough to get certified and get job

This course is very useful for people to complete their degree and get placed in better companies and the faculties are well talented and they have experience with qualification mtech in IITies etc. And the exams are like 3mibs+1sem for each semester.

Of course, this campus provides us with some interesting fest, etc. We will celebrate every year fests like techzite and some imp and useful etc. Books are available in libraries and students will be aware of internships etc.

A beautiful Experience at RGUKT Basar

If we are eligible for the scholarship offered by the Telangana government. Then there we can lay back and study well. The remaining process is undertaken by the university scholarship staff. There is a rich culture, and diversified campus students from various corners of Telangana are admitted into the university This encourages students to develop their interpersonal skills and technical skills too.

Anthapragnya, India's Biggest rural technical festival is an annually celebrated and student-organised event. There are various types of events, workshops, and competitions and a lot are being completely organised by the students and with the help of faculty coordinators.

All About my college

Paryukti is one of our tech fest held every year. It's a very big fest held in our college and the next day Riviera happens there we bring top singers from our college and many small tech fests done every month. Books and journals are present in the Library anyone can read there or borrow them. In our college, we organize every sports tournament such as badminton, football, cricket.. and cricket is one of the most liked sports events in our college. there are many groups like IETE, IEEE, samarpan, and many more clubs there you can join.

Fees are low compared to other wbjee colleges the hostel fee is only 12000 per semester, as well as semester fee, is also less i.e 42000. They take an extra 2000 for the exam fee every semester that's is approximately you can complete your engineering in less than 4 lakhs that's. No scholarship is present. I got placed in companies i.e Accenture, TCS (off campus), Capgemini, and mindtree.

Haldia Institute of Technology Overview

You will see many tech fests and annual cultural meets and sports events held continuously during your college time. And there is a lot of clubs and ngo which was managed by students to enhance the co-curricular activities of college and students like samarpan, Manav racing, iete, and many more. But the most famous thing is the library. I really love the library of this college its name is Aryabhatta Central library has lots of books and journals and a big room to study.

If you see the previous year's record (2022) then there is almost 100% in IT branches with an average of 5 LPA so you can say that this college is good for placement. Companies like TCS, CAPGEMINI, IBM, INFOSYS, COGNIZANT, ACCENTURE, and many more come to college to recruit freshers. And the highest package was 23 LPA and the average is around 5 LPA. When will u reach your 6th sem than companies start to come and u will get to chance to get those companies

REVIEW OF RGUKT CAMPUS

Life at the campus is excellent, extraordinary and wonderful. There are many social lives on our campus and many entertainment clubs, and the infrastructure is amazing, and it is so cool. The annual fest or the tech fest I participated in is in the round of fashion frenzy and I'm the runner-up of our university 2020 on February 23. There is a library on our campus and also a digital library on our campus. There are chairs which have wheels, each student has their own desk and with the laptop provided by our university cost of free and we have fans, AC, light and a projector as amenities in the classroom.

there are seven different types of courses ECE, CSE, MME, CIVIL, MECHANICAL, EEE, and CHEMICAL. I choose this course for a reason that is it can have both platforms in the ECE department either in electronic or in coding. 1:70 ratio of the faculty and the student B. Ed is the minimum qualification of the faculty and they can be freshers according to their experience or they can be professors and they have their teaching schedule There are two semesters each semester has three monthly tests and they are very very very difficult to pass

Rural gifted education

The infrastructure of the campus is very good and the environment is very good well constructed with the facilities available over here with all amenities of the classroom with digital equipment projectors laptops and audio system and the library is very good with the sophisticated amount of books to read and available 24 over 7 and with digital library and conducting Indias biggest rural technical festival antahpragnya and many more events sports and other extracurricular activities.

It is 6-year integrated BTech course with pre-University courses and a 4-year btech course and the branch is allocated based on merit and reservation and the faculty in the branch is very good and sound knowledge and they are post-graduated from various universities and iits, nit s and research Ph.D. candidates the exams are moderated to pass not easy not too hard the standard need to improve.

IIIT Banglore Experience

IIIT Banglore is well-known for its placement opportunities. The college not only has high educational standards but also offers competitive placement packages. Every year, the college retains a 100% placement record, with the highest selection package reaching up to 46 LPA and the median wage package being around 19 LPA, which are very good packages in contrast to many engineering colleges of such stature. Members of the college placement panel are also highly professional and have extensive industrial experience.

The college is located on approximately 10 acres of land. Although the college is small, the infrastructure is well maintained, and the college is kept clean and tidy. The college classrooms are well-ventilated and equipped with air conditioning and a digital board. Many informative books by best-selling writers from all over the world can be found in the college library. The college labs are modern and well-maintained. A basketball court, badminton court, and volleyball court are also available at the college.

Heritage Institute Of Technology- Best Engineering College To Look For

Heritage Utsav is the name of the annual fest and tech fest and is conducted in March every year. The library is filled with an ample amount of books and journals. The classrooms are fully air-conditioned. In a year there are many sports and extracurricular activities that happen on our campus like football, cricket tournaments, music, and dance competitions. Also, there are social clubs like music clubs, dance clubs, and sports club

I have always wanted to opt for higher studies and want to pursue my Ph.D. degree. And therefore I took this course. The faculty-student ratio is 3:1. The faculties are friendly and are always available to help you out by providing solutions to any kind of problem. All faculties are highly qualified with a minimum master's degree in technology. There are three exams in a semester. two internals and end semester exam.

IIIT Banglore Review

The curriculum is totally based on the current industrial requirements and follows all the latest regulations. The curriculum completely focuses on all concepts of engineering and electronics components and structure and dynamics. The faculty ratio was around 1:10 and the faculty interaction in the class is very healthy. The faculty have completed their PhD degree and have very good experiences in the field of teaching and they are totally aware of teaching methods. The faculty teaching methods is the blend of traditional and modern teaching statistics.

The biggest plus of our college is that the college follows a no-ragging policy strictly. The college infra is properly managed and maintained. The classrooms are very good and properly ventilated and fully equipped with a digital board, AC and a computer system. The college also provides sports facilities like a basketball court, badminton and volleyball court. The college library is small but full of knowledgeable books we can find books of every domain and many latest international journals are also available.

The curriculum is up to date and all the latest techniques and tricks are taught us through the curriculum of the program. The curriculum gives us an opportunity to explore our innovative skills and help us to develop our decision making and problem-solving skills. The faculty of the college is not only of PhD level but they are very professional and have very good research and industrial experience that is very beneficial for us. Their teaching methods are a mixture of theoretical and practical methods and they also train us through simulative exercises to keep us aware of the problem-solving technique.

IIIT Banglore is very popular for its placement offers. The college is not only high on education standards but the placement packages of the college are also on the higher side. The college maintains a 100% placement record every year and the highest placement package reaches up to 46 LPA and the average salary p[acakge is around 19 LPA which very good packages offer in comparison to many engineering collge of such stature. The college placement committee members are also very professional and have very good industrial experiences.

A GOOD COLLEGE FOR MASTERS IN VLSI DOMAIN

I think M.Tech in the Electronics field is a good option. It has huge research and application potential. The faculty-student ratio is good almost 10:1. The faculties all are PhD from IITs. They are well experienced. There is two-semester in a year. There is One Midterm and one end-term exam in a semester. All question papers are prepared from the topics covered. The weekly quizzes are tough. Other exams are moderate to pass.

ABHIKALPAN is the TECH fest, GUSTO is the sports fest, TARANG is the cultural fest. All classrooms are well equipped with Smart class facilities, air-conditioned and well designed. There are good facilities for indoor and outdoor games. SPIC MCAY, Sanskrit club, poetry club etc are very popular on the campus.

Awesome Faculty Department

Recently Wipro has done an internship with a stipend of 20000 per month for every candidate. The candidates have successfully finished their internship program with flying colors. viz a viz computer software developer, computer courses like CCNA, CCNP, and many more. The candidates highly appreciated the program and the role of sviet experts in organizing the internship program.

If I talk about btech final semester is the time to get placed in any govt or private companies There are various companies that are visiting in SVIET like infosis, Mahindra, Tata Motors, blue origins, Samsung, etc 15-16 lakh per year 50-70% I want to teach in any college as a lecturer of electronics and communication engineering
