Gibbs sampling on large lattice with GMRF
One important advantage of the GMRF on the lattice is that the conditional variance and weights are constant. Hence, an efficient convolution method can be used to compute simultaneously all the conditional expectations required for Gibbs sampling. This allows to do block Gibbs sampling (Roberts and Sahu, 1997) to speed up computations.
