Good morning everyone. Today I would like to take this great opportunity and talk about the importance of fitness and health.

Our physical and mental well-being plays an important role in determining the quality of life we lead.

Regular exercise, a balanced and preferred diet, and adequate sleep are the three pillars of a healthy lifestyle.

Exercise helps us maintain a healthy weight, improves our cardiovascular health, reduces the risk of chronic diseases, and boosts our mental health.

A balanced diet consisting of all essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals is vital to keep our body functioning optimally.

Adequate sleep is equally important as it helps our body recover and recharge, reducing the risk of various health problems.

Incorporating physical activities into our daily routine, like walking, jogging, or cycling can go a long way in keeping us fit and healthy.

Let's also remember the mental aspect of health. Practising mindfulness, meditation, or other stress-reducing activities can help maintain good mental health.

So, let us consciously prioritise our health and adopt a healthy lifestyle for a happier and more fulfilling life.

Being fit and healthy means maintaining strict discipline, following etiquette, eating healthy food at appropriate times, doing clean eating, doing daily exercise, meditation, yoga, and personal cleanliness. If we are fit and healthy, all our efforts to be successful will not go in vain. Therefore health should always come first.

Knowing that health and fitness play a crucial role in our overall well-being, we should strive to balance our body, mind, and spirit.

We can start playing games and sports. An active body has a good metabolism and keeps us healthy. It strengthens, increases flexibility, helps in calorie burning, and increases blood circulation and immunity.

Making the right food choices leads to a healthy diet. Getting vitamins from vegetables, fruits, and protein from whole grains and lean meats keeps us healthy. Eating low-fat foods helps to control cholesterol levels.

We should avoid smoking and drinking alcohol, as they affect sleep, which is fundamental for keeping your body healthy. Exercise improves your overall health. We should exercise or walk for at least 30 minutes a day.

We should all strive towards making a healthy life a goal. In today's world, where we can see people facing the deadly pandemic, we should make it a point where we prioritise fitness. Health and fitness should come before anything else.

Achieving Fitness

Set fitness goals: Decide on what you want to achieve, whether it's weight loss, building muscle, or improving endurance. Set specific, measurable goals to help you stay motivated.

Start with small changes: Incorporate small changes into your daily routine, such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator or going for a walk during your lunch break.

Exercise regularly: Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise, such as brisk walking or cycling, on most days of the week.

Mix up your workout routine: Incorporate a variety of exercises to avoid boredom and work different muscle groups. Try weightlifting, cardio, and flexibility exercises like yoga.

Eat a balanced diet: Focus on eating a diet that is rich in whole, nutrient-dense foods, including fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and whole grains. Avoid processed and high-sugar foods.

A heartiest welcome to each and everyone gathered here. Today, I am going to deliver a speech on health and fitness. Taking care of our health and developing a healthy life is every individual’s responsibility. However, we often neglect our health amidst our busy schedule and as such face difficulty in the future. Our level of fitness totally depends on the amount of physical activity we perform in our daily life. This level of fitness can be easily achieved by inculcating a habit of daily exercise followed by eating healthy. 

Drinking sufficient amounts of water and cutting out any form of junk and unhealthy food from our diet is very important for our body and helps in weight loss. Water plays a major role in fat curbing and removes all the unwanted toxins from our body. Any form of unhealthy weight gain may lead to obesity and make us physically inactive. Lack of proper exercise and diet also result in fatigue, headache and improper sleep cycle which harm us not only physically but also mentally. Lighter forms of exercise such as meditation, yoga, and walking reduce stress and give peace of mind to us after a hectic day. 

Due to the use of technology in our daily life, we have become more inactive due to the lack of any physical activity. We hardly walk to the nearest store, play on the grounds or use the staircase of our building, rather we do it all through technology without burning any of our calories. Therefore, a little physical exercise makes us tired and ill. But it's never too late and we can always start a healthy lifestyle whenever we want to. Children should opt for playing in the playground rather than spending hours on video games and phones. This will make them healthier and increase their fitness level. Although it may feel difficult to achieve at the beginning, we will be able to enjoy it and feel the difference.

Thus, I would like to conclude my speech by saying that we should take out some time out of our hectic schedule and contribute it to improving our mental as well as physical health. It is our responsibility to transform our body into a healthier version before this technology takes a toll upon our health.

A warm welcome to everyone present here today. I am here to deliver a speech on health and fitness. Being surrounded by technology, the level of fitness has reduced a lot in human beings. There is no such physical activity in our day to day life and we completely rely on technology as it is fast and less time-consuming. Also in this busy schedule, we often neglect our health. A healthy lifestyle not only includes our physical health but also includes our mental health. Our level of fitness depends upon how healthy and active our body is. 

Leading a healthy life has a lot to do with our food intake and sleep cycle. Lack of proper sleep, physical exercise and regular consumption of junk food affects our health a lot leading to several heart diseases and obesity. This has also affected the mental conditions of individuals thus leading to depression. 

Therefore, it is important that we inculcate a habit of exercising daily in the form of yoga, dancing or even walking. Doing so will relax our mind and help us feel positive about ourselves. Trying out meditation is also very beneficial for mental peace. Although a routine of daily exercise and healthy eating might feel difficult to continue at the beginning, one can start by taking small steps towards it. It can include switching junk foods to fruits and vegetables, drinking plenty of water and walking to the nearest stop rather than opting for a vehicle.

Taking out some time for improving our mental and physical health is an important habit to be followed. This, as a result, will help us concentrate well on our work and lead a life full of fitness.

Hello, wonderful people out there. Today I am here to deliver a speech on Health. This includes everything starting from our physical health to mental health. A person who is free from illness, free from injury and free from pain in both mind and body is considered as healthy.  One may have a healthy body, but his mind might be sick. On the contrary, one can have a healthy mind but might have a sick body. Hence the balance between the two is extremely important and if a person with a healthy body has a healthy mind, then that person can be considered as a healthy individual. We are part of a population and community. Hence we all have a responsibility towards making it a healthy community.

What is Physical Health?

Physical health tells about the state of our physical body. That how are we maintaining our body. This has nothing to do with the physical appearance, being slim or anything like that. It means that how our physical body is operating.

Whether we are able to perform our regular daily tasks well, whether we are facing any sort of fatigue, pain or are being lethargic in short intervals. Physical health powerfully connects and affects other components of health. For example, if we don’t sleep well, or if we are having an interrupted sleep then the next day we are not able to perform well.

If we are not feeling physically healthy then it affects our mood and confidence level as well. We can adapt certain healthy habits to live a healthy lifestyle. Like being active throughout the day, by eating and drinking a balanced diet, by taking care of hygiene and disease prevention. Our physical health lays a foundation for many important aspects of our life, hence we need to take very good care of our bodies.

What is Mental Health?

We all have mental health. It is just as important as physical health. Mental health comprises our emotional, psychological and social well being. It affects how we feel, think and act. It also is a determinant of how we handle stress.

Thus, it is very important at every stage of life. It depends upon our genetic makeup and upbringing, Our life circumstances and the stresses we encounter in our life. Some people at some stage may have mental disorders like depression and anxiety.

Later at other stages of life, they may have positive mental health when they feel contented & fulfilled. Our aim should be to have positive mental health where we can reach our full potential and live a satisfying life.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) describes mental health as a state of well being where an individual realizes his full potential, can cope with the stresses in a productive manner and convert it productively and contribute towards the well being of our community.

Being mentally healthy implies that we are able to cope up with difficult times, feel in control, confident and good about ourselves, managing & expressing your emotions and building and maintaining good relationships.

Health specialists say that connecting the dots between food, exercise, and sleep can make a big difference in our health, both mental and physical health. Exercising, eating the right food, nourishing the mind with positive thoughts and healthy companionship.

These habits start in childhood and go ahead with our lives. Then we gradually pass it on to the next generations. Hence, a healthy lifestyle is actually an interlinked chain that is connecting us to our past and future. Let us pledge today to take very good care of our mental and physical health.

But keeping active and in good health involves more than simply how we appear or how much we weigh. It’s about looking after our bodies and minds so that we can live long, fulfilling lives that are full of productivity.

So how do we get into good health and stay in shape?

Priority one should be given to maintaining a nutritious, well-balanced diet that is low in bad fats, sweets, and processed foods. Exercise is also vital since it can build our muscles, enhance our cardiovascular health, and increase our mood and energy.

Getting enough sleep is a crucial component of maintaining fitness and good health. In addition to being crucial for our physical health and restoration, getting enough sleep is also crucial for our emotional and cognitive well-being.

Finally, it’s critical to look after our mental health. This can involve using stress-reduction strategies, looking for social support, and developing healthy coping mechanisms for life’s difficulties.

In conclusion, maintaining good physical and mental health is essential for maintaining a high standard of living. We can live long, fulfilling lives by maintaining a nutritious diet, getting adequate exercise, getting enough sleep, and caring for our mental health.

The journey towards good health starts right from childhood. It depends on how a mother maintains her health and fitness, consumes a balanced diet, and ensures that the environment where they reside is hygienic. These are the two fundamental requirements for a healthy mother and baby. Unfortunately, many children still suffer from dreaded diseases like polio, diphtheria, and typhoid.   • A good night’s sleep is an easy and effortless way to maintain your health. Your body works to repair all the cells and make sure that your body functions properly the next day in the time that you rest. A minimum of 8 hours of sleep is necessary for any adult being.
  • Try to avoid processed or fried foods and make sure that your plates include enough vegetables and fruits. A healthy platter does wonders for one’s health.
  • If you are feeling disturbed or upset about something, talk to your near and dear ones; you can also consult a specialist if you need. Just like physical health, mental health is also something that is to be considered important. When we fall ill, we have medicines; similarly, if someone is feeling mentally unwell, they should consult a specialist.

With the COVID19 pandemic going on for the past two years, one should take the following precautions to avoid getting affected by the virus. Here are some simple steps one can follow:

  • Always put on a mask whenever you step out of your houses. This is applicable to people of all ages.
  • Everyone should avoid going to crowded places as there is a high risk of getting affected.
  • If you feel you are affected by the virus, seclude yourself from the rest of your family members and keep in touch with your doctors so that everything is monitored and you stay out of danger.

In the real terms health and fitness are two sides of the same coin means both are very necessary to live a healthy and happy life. Without proper health and fitness one cannot have a feeling of physical, mental and social well being. It is the common understanding which everyone must follow throughout the life for the wellness of their life and keep body and mind functioning in balance.

The real meaning of the health and fitness involves the efficient and proper working of all the body systems such as heart, nervous system, kidney, liver, digestive system, brain, etc. A person with healthy functioning body organs is called as a healthy and fit person. Being healthy and fit is not so easy in such a crowded and polluted environment. It is a big challenge to the whole human fraternity to maintain fitness together with the technological improvement in the modern world. Whenever the topic of health and fitness is discussed, many more questions arising in our mind that how to be healthy and fit, what habits we should follow to be healthy and fit, etc.

Human body has lots of independently working organs however interdependent as well. If any of the organ suffer problem, it affects other organs too and arise complications. The functioning of any singular bodies coordinates the functions of all together. Human body has many important organs however internal which we cannot see from outside. So, it arises a big question that how we can keep our internal organs safe and proper working in order to maintain our health and fitness. Following proper and timely daily routine with necessary physical exercises and healthy food on daily basis is the way to maintain health and fitness. Healthy food provides our body all the required and essential nutrients, vitamins, proteins, minerals, healthy fat and carbohydrate. Regular exercises tones up our body muscles, keeps skin fresh, keeps spine straight and fit, regularize digestive system functioning, improves blood circulation to whole body, keeps body and mind in balance, etc.

Exercise promotes heart functioning and gives it strength to pump more blood at faster rate all through the body. Thus, we can say that exercise and proper nutrition regularly help a person to keep all his organs in absolute fitness. Exercise and healthy foods are the way to keep body and mind healthy as well as avoid health hazards and medication. Both are necessary for the people of all ages. Here are some ways which can help us to stay fit and healthy for long time:

  • We should go for regular physical, blood, etc check-ups at least once a year to make sure that everything is normal.
  • We should take proper and enough sleep.
  • We should go for daily exercise.

As we all know that we are here to celebrate this special occasion, I would like to speech over the topic of health and fitness. In this competitive and crowded world, everyone has forgot to take care of their health. They start a run in the early morning (to earn money for their family) which only ends in the late night. People do not have a little bit of time for themselves. They only earn money, eat and sleep. They do not know that to keep this body healthy, we need to involve in the daily physical exercises and cleanliness of body. There is a common saying that “health is wealth”. On the other hand, an unhealthy environment because of the over population, industrialization, and pollution causes bad health and mental disturbance. Bad health always threatens the life as it brings many dreadful diseases such as heart attack, cancer, hypertension, diabetes, hepatitis, AIDS, kidney failure, liver problems, etc.

Now-a-days, people are suffering from various mental disorders because they are spending their full time in racing to blindly earn money, to earn fame, win aim of life and achieve big status in the society.

Everyone’s life has been hectic because of the huge level competition in each field. Earlier people were used to of enjoying the nature’s beauty and enjoying the different colors of life. But now, people are working in very stressful condition without any satisfaction which is hindering the physical and mental fitness thus people are suffering many disease. Physical fitness and healthy diet are very important for getting a healthy and tension free life. People should eat very simple and light food (rich in vitamins, minerals, and proteins) with green leafy vegetables, fruits and milk. Food rich in fruits and fresh vegetables reduces the risk of cancer, cataract, diabetes, heart attack etc. People should avoid eating fast foods, oily foods, soft drinks and fatty foods. Everyone should follow good eating and exercise habits such as:

  • Eat breakfast at time and in large amount and light dinner 3 hrs before sleeping.
  • We should be a nibbler and not a foodie.
  • We should practice eating fresh salad with meal.
  • We should not keep ourselves starve for long time or overeat subsequently.
  • We should avoid fast foods and canned foods.
  • We should eat heart friendly foods like yellow, orange and green vegetables and fruits.
  • We should reduce the intake of food and exercise more as the age increases.
  • We should go for daily light and heavy physical exercises by keeping in mind the structure of body.

Do you go to the gym? Do you go jogging? Do you go swimming?

There are lots of ways to stay fit! In this lesson, we’re going to look at some useful words for talking about health and fitness . And then we’re going to watch a video conversation with these words so you can learn them more easily!

Here are some useful words that appear in the video.

To go jogging

If you “go jogging”, you run as a form of exercise: “I went jogging for 10 kilometres.”

To keep fit

If you “keep fit”, you do exercise and eat well so your body is strong and healthy: “I go swimming to keep fit.”

To gain weight

If you “gain weight”, you become a bit fatter: “I’ve gained a bit of weight.”

To take a class / to go to a class

If you “take a class” (or “go to a class”), you attend that class so you can learn something or do some exercise: “I’ve been taking an aerobics class.”

Your “diet” is the type of food you eat regularly: “I’m trying to cut sugar out my diet.”

Carbs / carbohydrates

As we recognize Better Hearing and Speech Month during May, it is important to understand how our ability to communicate can be affected as we age. This is particularly critical to consider if you or a loved one has experienced a medical emergency that has led to a speech or communication disorder such as a stroke, Parkinson’s disease, or other type of brain injury.

While speech disorders can present unique challenges and impact a person’s independence, a short-term stay at a post-acute care center can significantly improve a person’s ability to communicate effectively. This level of care provides each individual with comprehensive evaluations, personalized care, and the communication tools they require to achieve their unique goals and improve their quality of life.

Common Speech Disorders

Speech and language disorders may be caused by a variety of different factors as a person ages, but the most common causes include stroke, brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis (MS). Following one of these medical emergencies a person may have developed a common communication disorder such as:

Aphasia can affect how a person communicates, writes, and comprehends language. It is often caused by a stroke or severe head injury.

Cognitive-Communication Disorders can impact a person’s thinking and cognitive abilities. A person may have challenges with memory, problem solving, organizing or forming their thoughts, and paying attention.

We must eat a healthy, balanced diet every day which will provide adequate vitamins, minerals, fat, and protein for the day for us to remain fit and healthy. A healthy diet includes food made of green leafy vegetables, fruits, nuts, cereals, pulses, eggs, and meat if non-vegetarian. In meat, red meat such as beef, lamb, and pork is considered to be a nutritious option. Seafood such as crabs, lobsters, and certain fish are also healthy.

Dairy products such as milk, butter, cream, cheese, and curd must also be consumed to a certain level. In addition to this, one must also drink at least 8 glasses of water every day, exercise, and remain in the sunlight for 20 minutes.
