Template The Power of Kindness

Good morning, everyone!

Today, I want to talk to you about the power of kindness. In our busy lives, it is easy to get caught up in our own concerns and forget the impact a simple act of kindness can have on others.

A kind word, a friendly smile, or a helping hand can brighten someone's day and make a world of difference. Kindness not only brings joy to others but also helps us feel more connected and content within ourselves.

As members of this school community, let us make a conscious effort to be kind to one another. Let us lend a helping hand to those in need, offer support to our friends, and show compassion to those facing challenges.

In the classroom, let us encourage and uplift our classmates, celebrating each other's successes and offering a helping hand when someone is struggling. Outside of school, let us extend our kindness to our families, neighbors, and strangers we encounter in our daily lives.

Remember, a small act of kindness can create a ripple effect, inspiring others to do the same. Let us be the change we want to see in our school and society.

Thank you for listening, and I challenge each one of you to spread kindness wherever you go.

Template The Importance of Resilience

Good morning, esteemed teachers, fellow students, and special guests,

Today, I want to talk about an essential quality that can help us navigate through life's challenges and emerge stronger - resilience.

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from setbacks, to face adversity with courage, and to never lose hope in the face of difficult circumstances. It is an invaluable trait that can empower us to overcome obstacles and achieve our goals.

Throughout our lives, we will encounter various obstacles, both in our studies and personal lives. It is during these tough times that our resilience is tested. But remember, it is not about avoiding failure; it is about learning from it and growing stronger as a result.

In our pursuit of knowledge and excellence, we may face failures, disappointments, and criticism. However, it is crucial to see these experiences as opportunities for growth rather than as reasons to give up.

Let us support one another and provide encouragement during challenging times. Together, we can create a culture where failure is not stigmatized, but rather seen as a stepping stone towards success.

As we move forward in our academic journey, let us embrace resilience as a guiding force. With determination, perseverance, and a positive mindset, we can overcome any obstacles that come our way.

Thank you for your attention, and let us all embrace resilience as we strive for excellence in every aspect of our lives.

Template Our Responsibility to the Environment

As we gather here for the morning assembly, let us take a moment to reflect on our responsibility towards the environment. Our planet is facing critical challenges, including climate change, pollution, and depletion of natural resources.

As young individuals, we hold the power to make a positive impact on the environment. Our actions, both big and small, collectively contribute to the well-being of our planet.

Let us pledge to be mindful of our consumption patterns and reduce waste. Simple steps like recycling, using less plastic, and conserving water can go a long way in preserving our environment.

Additionally, let us be advocates for change. We can raise awareness about environmental issues within our school and community. By engaging in initiatives like tree-planting drives, clean-up campaigns, and energy-saving projects, we can actively contribute to the betterment of our surroundings.

Moreover, let us encourage others to adopt eco-friendly practices and lead by example. The choices we make today will impact the future generations to come, and it is our duty to leave behind a sustainable and healthy planet.

By working together, we can be the change agents that our world needs. Let us be responsible stewards of the environment and take action to create a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future.

Thank you for your attention, and let us all make a commitment to protecting our planet and preserving its beauty for generations to come.

Sample Speech during Morning Assembly by Teacher/Principal

Good Morning My Students,

Hello once again, welcome to our weekly assembly. Last week was huge for our second-year students who completed all their exams. However, this upcoming week will be even more significant as all of the teachers have come together and come up with a rewarding week, so every time you get a good grade or have good behavior and effort in your work, you will get a reward. At the end of the week, the year 11 students will get a certificate for their patience with their exams and hard work.

We have also got a big reveal that will change the school for the future at the end of the week. This is a week where you can get rewards doesn’t mean that you cannot work hard and not study and learn. So please, humble request, keep up the hard work and make your teachers proud.

Morning Assembly Speech by Principal

Hello, and good morning everyone!

I hope you all are doing well and are equally excited to learn all the knowledge these teachers have to pass on as they teach us. The spirit that you feel in the morning before going to classes is the one that stays with you all day if you feel excited and eager to learn, so the rest of the day becomes easy and full of excitement for you. Still, if you feel down and show no enthusiasm, you drag the day with no productivity.

We all should feel lucky to be here and be in a school where millions of children do not get to school. Yet, we come here daily with tidy clothes and enough money to buy ourselves food. Speech on Morning Assembly

Morning assembly is a crucial part of your school day. It’s a gathering of all students and teachers, often at the start of the day. This daily ritual helps you embrace a sense of discipline, unity, and a spirit of learning.

During assembly, you might sing your school song, listen to a thought-provoking speech, or receive important announcements. It’s a time to reflect, learn, and prepare for the day ahead.

1-minute Speech on Morning Assembly

Good day, everyone. Today, we share thoughts on a topic that touches our daily lives – the morning assembly.

In the morning assembly, we start our day with prayer. This moment of silence and reflection helps us find peace, guiding us towards a calm and focused mindset. It’s a chance for us to express gratitude for the day ahead.

Following this, we share news, both local and global. Here, we learn about the world around us. We get to know about current events and happenings, shaping our understanding of society. It’s like a live newspaper, enriching our knowledge every day.

The morning assembly also gives us a platform to showcase our talents. Be it singing, dancing, reciting a poem, or delivering a speech, it offers a chance to shine. It helps boost our confidence and improve our public speaking skills.

Lastly, the morning assembly promotes discipline and punctuality. It teaches us the value of time and the importance of routine. It’s a lesson in itself, a practical way of instilling good habits in us.

To sum up, the morning assembly is an integral part of our school life. It’s a vibrant mix of prayer, news, talent, discipline, and learning. It’s more than just a gathering; it’s a beautiful start to our day. So, let’s appreciate this daily ritual that helps us grow and learn together. Thank you.

2-minute Speech on Morning Assembly

Good day to all! We are here today to talk about an important part of school life – the morning assembly.

The first thing we all do when we reach school is gather in the auditorium or the playground for the morning assembly. It’s like the starting whistle that signals the beginning of our day. It’s the time when we all stand together, in neat lines, ready to start a fresh day of learning.

The morning assembly is a lot more than just a gathering. It’s a time when we take a moment to calm our minds before the day begins. It’s when we all pause, close our eyes, and meditate for a few minutes. This helps us focus, it clears our heads and prepares us for the day ahead. It’s like a magic trick to make our brains work better!

Next comes the most important part of the assembly – the prayer. It’s when we all sing together in unison, our voices rising and falling in rhythm. The prayer is not just about asking for blessings, it’s also about showing gratitude. It’s about saying thank you for the good things in life – our family, our friends, our school, and the opportunity to learn.

Morning assemblies also give us a chance to show our talents. Some of us sing songs, some read out news, some recite poems and some give speeches. It’s a platform where we can shine and share our skills with everyone. It also helps us learn to face a crowd and speak confidently, which is a skill we will need all our lives.

The morning assembly is also a time for learning. We share interesting facts, news from around the world, and stories of great people who inspire us. It’s not just about learning from books, it’s about understanding the world around us and learning to be better people.

To sum it up, the morning assembly is like the heart of our school day. It brings us together, it calms our minds, it helps us show our talents, and it teaches us new things every day. So, let’s make the most of this time. Let’s participate with enthusiasm, listen with interest, and learn with curiosity. Let’s make our morning assembly the best part of our day.

Feature image of Anchoring Script for School Assembly

A morning school assembly starts when all students, teachers, the principal and other members of the administration gathered in the assembly hall. If the gathering is chaotic and the students are disorganised, the anchor may guide them by saying:

“I would request the students to please stand in a line and maintain silence. The morning assembly will begin in a minute. Thank you.”

Once everyone is present and it’s time to start, the anchor may begin by saying a quote, a famous paragraph or a short, meaningful poem to capture everyone’s attention. Here, we have listed a few quotes that you can use in your script:

  • “Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire; you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will.” – George Bernard Shaw
  • “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eight. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.” – Henry Ford
  • “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela

After that, it is important to welcome everyone to the assembly. A welcome speech may look something like this:

“Hello and warm good morning to our respected Principal Sir / Ma’am, our beloved teachers, staff members and of course, my dear schoolmates. I am [your name] from class [x] , your anchor for today’s morning assembly. The date today is May 17th, 2022 and it is a Tuesday. We will start this beautiful day by saying our daily prayer first. I request everyone to please stand straight, join their hands and close their eyes. We will begin now. – [Saying the prayer.] “

After the daily prayer, if there are songs or hymns to be sung, the anchor may then ask the choir to proceed and lead everyone.

“Now, it is time for us to sing ‘Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful’ and praise the Lord. I would like to ask our school choir to proceed with the hymn and lead everyone. Today, Father [Pastor name] will also be joining us. Thank you.”

“We will now sing ‘God’s love is so wonderful.’ I would request our choir to lead everyone. Thank you.”

If there is a tradition in the school to read verses from The Bible every day during the morning assembly, the anchor may then ask the school pastor to come on the podium and read the verses.

“I would now like to request Father [name of the pastor] to kindly come up on the podium and read verses from The Bible. Everyone, please pay attention and listen to Father well. Thank you.”

“Now, it is time for us to take the National Pledge. Please stand at attention and repeat the pledge after me. –

India is my country; all Indians are my brothers and sisters.

I love my country, and I am proud of its rich and varied heritage. I shall always strive to be worthy of it.

I shall respect my parents, teachers and all elders and treat everyone with courtesy.

To my country and my people, I pledge my devotion.

In their well being and prosperity lies my happiness.

Thank you.”

“The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind.” – William Blake

“It is always great to start the morning with great thought. Great thought has the potential to inspire, motivate and illuminate thousands of minds. Now, I would like to invite [name of the student] from class [x] to share with us the thought of the day.”

“Thank you, [name of the student]. That was really interesting. We would definitely ponder upon it. You may now take your position.”

“If people are informed they will do the right thing. It’s when they are not informed that they become hostages to prejudice.” – Charlayne Hunter-Gault

“Being aware of our surroundings, having the knowledge of what is happening around us, in our city, in our country and around the world, is indeed very important in this day and age. It helps us stay updated, increases our general knowledge and helps us stay safe. I would now like to request [name of the student] from class [x] to come up to the stage and share with us the important news for the day.”

“Thank you, [name of the student] . It was so nice to hear that the humanitarian bill has finally been passed in Parliament. It will definitely help many people. You may now take your position.”

“Feminism isn’t about making women stronger. Women are already strong, it’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.” – G.D. Anderson

“Today, [name of the student] from class [x] is going to share with us his/her views and opinions on the topic of ‘women empowerment and feminism’. I would like to request [name of the student] to please come up on the stage.”

“What a great speech. It indeed sheds light on the current situation of women in our country. Education and financial independence are truly important if we want to empower women. Thank you, [name of the student]. You may now take your position.”

Note: Here, we have used ‘women empowerment and feminism’ as an example. You may replace it with the topic provided to you and use a quote that matches the topic.

“Today, the following students are celebrating their birthdays:

[Name 1] from class [-]  [Name 2] from class [-] [Name 3] from class [-]

May God bless them. Let us all wish them and sing a birthday song for them.

‘Happy birthday to you,  Happy birthday to you,  Happy birthday dear students, Happy birthday to you.’

[Claps]

Thank you, everyone.”

Inviting the Principal to Say a Few Words

“I would now like to invite our respected Principal Sir / Ma’am to come up to the stage and say a few words to motivate us. Thank you.”

“That was indeed motivating and inspiring. There is indeed no shortcut to success. We must work hard and study diligently. We will surely remember your words. Thank you so much, Sir / Ma’am.”

National Anthem

“Now it is time for us to sing our National Anthem. I would request everyone to please stand at attention.”

[Jana Gana Mana]

“Thank you, everyone. You may now stand at ease.”

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” — Albert Einstein

“We have now reached the conclusion of our school’s morning assembly for today. Thank you for joining us. You may now move back to your respective classes. Have a good and productive day. Thank you.”

Note: This is a sample script meant to provide you with a basic idea of how to write an anchoring script for a school assembly. Feel free to use this script and edit it as per your needs.

Assembly Speech - 10 Lines, Short and Long Speech

An assembly is a scheduled formal gathering of students and faculty that serves to kick off the day's academic activity. It gives both students and teachers a chance to congregate.

10 lines On Assembly Speech

Good morning everyone. I am honoured to stand before you today as a representative of Central Modern School.

First of all, I would like to express my gratitude towards our principal and teachers for giving me this opportunity to speak in front of all of you.

I am proud to be a part of this great institution, where we are nurtured and groomed to become responsible citizens of our nation.

As students, it is our duty to strive for excellence in all that we do, both inside and outside the classroom.

Our school has provided us with numerous opportunities to develop our talents, skills and knowledge.

Whether it be participating in sports events, cultural activities, or academic competitions, we have been encouraged to take part and excel in all of them.

However, our responsibilities do not end here. We must also remember that we are the future of our country, and it is up to us to shape its future for the better.

This means that we must take an active interest in the world around us, and be knowledgeable about current events and the issues that are affecting our society.

It is also important that we show kindness and respect to those around us, regardless of their background or beliefs. By doing so, we can create a positive and inclusive environment in our school, and in turn, make a positive impact on the world.

Let us strive to achieve academic excellence, and also develop into well-rounded individuals who are ready to face the challenges of the world with determination and resilience.

Assembly Speech - 10 Lines, Short and Long Speech

Short Assembly Speech

Good morning everyone. It is a great honour to be standing before you today as a student of Kalyani Public School.

Firstly, I would like to thank our principal, teachers and staff for providing us with such a supportive and nurturing learning environment. Our school has always emphasised the importance of education, and has encouraged us to strive for excellence in all that we do.

As students, it is our responsibility to make the most of the opportunities provided to us, and to work hard towards achieving our goals. Whether it be participating in extracurricular activities, volunteering for community service, or simply striving for academic success, we must all put in our best effort.

But our education does not end in the classroom. We must also educate ourselves about the world around us, and take an active interest in current events and the issues affecting our society. By doing so, we can become informed and responsible citizens, who are ready to make a positive impact on the world.

Furthermore, it is essential that we treat each other with kindness and respect, regardless of our differences. Our school has always emphasised the importance of inclusiveness, and we must continue to promote this value, both within the school and in the wider community.

In conclusion, I would like to remind each one of us that our time at Kalyani Public School is a privilege, and we must make the most of it. Let us work hard to achieve our goals, and also strive to become well-rounded individuals who are equipped to face the challenges of the world with confidence and resilience.

Long Assembly Speech

Good morning students, teachers and staff,

Today, I stand before you to share some thoughts on a topic that is close to my heart. As we gather here today, I want to emphasise the importance of education in shaping our future.

Education provides us with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in life. It helps us to grow as individuals, to understand the world around us and to develop our own opinions and beliefs. Education is not just about getting good grades and passing exams, it’s about gaining a well-rounded understanding of the world and our place in it.

But, education is not just limited to what we learn in the classroom. We learn through our experiences, through our interactions with others and through the challenges we face in life. It is through these experiences that we gain a deeper understanding of who we are and what we want to achieve.

So, I urge each and every one of you to take advantage of the opportunities that are available to you here at school. Get involved in extracurricular activities, form meaningful relationships with your classmates and teachers, and never stop asking questions. The more you put into your education, the more you will get out of it.

Finally, I want to remind you that education is a privilege, and not a right for everyone. There are many people around the world who do not have access to the same opportunities that we do. So, let us use our education to make a difference in the world, and to create a brighter future for all.

Importance Of Education

Education is crucial for personal and societal development. It provides individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their careers and personal lives. Education helps people understand the world around them, challenge existing beliefs and attitudes, and form their own opinions.

Moreover, education contributes to economic growth and social cohesion, as it prepares individuals to participate actively in their communities and the workforce. Education also has a positive impact on reducing poverty and promoting gender equality, as it provides individuals with opportunities to improve their financial situation and gain independence.

In addition, education provides individuals with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions, leading to more informed citizens and better democratic societies.

The interpretation of proceedings serves to facilitate communication and does not constitute an authentic or verbatim record of the proceedings. Only the original speech is authentic.

The theme of this year’s Health Assembly is: Health for peace, peace for health.

The COVID-19 pandemic and other health emergencies with international reach have highlighted the leadership and coordinating role of WHO in responding to such events. Strengthening preparedness for and response to health emergencies are a key theme of the Health Assembly.

Events began with a high-level segment on 22 May with speeches from the elected Health Assembly President, Heads of State, special guests, an address by the WHO Director-General and the presentation of the Director-General’s Health Awards.

Strategic roundtables

During the Seventy-fifth World Health Assembly, a series of strategic roundtables are being held. During these sessions, WHA delegates, partner agencies, representatives of civil society and WHO experts will discuss current and future priorities for public health issues of global importance.

About the World Health Assembly

The World Health Assembly is the decision-making body of WHO. It is attended by delegations from all WHO Member States and focuses on a specific health agenda prepared by the Executive Board. The main functions of the World Health Assembly are to determine the policies of the Organization, appoint the Director-General, supervise financial policies, and review and approve the proposed programme budget. The Health Assembly is held annually in Geneva, Switzerland.

Due to the ongoing renovation of the Palais des Nations, the number of rooms available and their capacity is limited. Access to meeting rooms is restricted. Additionally, there will be no side events held at the Palais des Nations. The venues at the Palais des Nations are: Plenary -- room XIX; Committee A -- room XX; and Committee B -- room XVII.

In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, in-person participants are requested to wear face masks and perform a daily rapid antigen self-test.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The South Carolina General Assembly met for what is expected to be the final day of the 2024 session Wednesday, taking up a flurry of bills and giving several lawmakers a chance to say goodbye.

Legislators sent to the governor’s desk a bill changing the way judges are screened before the General Assembly votes on them and overrode Gov. Henry McMaster’s veto of a bill that required the erasing of the records of people convicted of certain underage alcohol sales crimes.

They also let die a bill that would limit how topics like race can be taught in public school K-12 classrooms.

But before the flurry of legislative action, there were nearly a dozen goodbye speeches between the House and Senate from members who weren’t running for reelection, some who lost in primaries and one likely moving from the House to the Senate.

Goodbye speeches

The chief speech was from Democratic Sen. Nikki Setzler, who decided not to run for reelection after 48 years.

Setzler told stories of the Senate from times before a handful of current senators were born. There were debates that went on for days, budget fights that almost became literal fights and honorable men who laid the path of service and decency that Setzler hopes continues after he is gone.

Image

Setzler, who remained a Democrat under the label of “a caring conservative” even as Republicans took over and now dominate the state, said letting South Carolina be run by moderates has helped the state grow and thrive over the past few decades.

“We run under a party label. But we represent people. We ought to vote for the people that we represent, not what some party tells us to,” Setzler said.

For now, Setzler is the longest serving state lawmaker in the country and set the record for the longest service ever in the South Carolina Senate. But he said after his last election win, he realized it was time to leave.

That thought was cemented when his friend, Sen. Hugh Leatherman, died in office in 2021 at age 90 after 37 years in the upper chamber.

“I can’t reach that point where you can’t give it up,” said Setzler, who turns 79 in August.

Republican Senate Majority Leader Shane Massey was a 1-year-old when Setzler first took his seat. The two grew close when they worked together to try to help the state get through the failure when the private utility South Carolina Electric & Gas and state-owned Santee Cooper poured billions of dollars into a nuclear power plant project that never generated a watt of power.

“He shows up. He pays attention. He’s smart. He works hard and he operates in good faith,” Massey said.

Democratic Sen. Dick Harpootlian also said goodbye. He said when he came to the Senate six years ago, he scoffed when a fellow senator called it hallowed ground. But he now realizes how important it is.

“This is hallowed ground. Things happen here that affect millions of people. Some good, some bad,” Harpootlian said.

Lots of bills

Both chambers approved the state’s $14.5 billion budget for the fiscal year that starts Monday. It accelerates a planned income tax cut , raises the salaries of all teachers and state employees and spends $500 million to fix more roads and repair bridges across the state.

Both chambers passed a compromise changing the makeup of the Judicial Merit Screening Commission, which determines if candidates to be judges are qualified. The governor goes from no appointments to four on the now 12-member board.

The commission must send out all qualified candidates up to six instead of a previous cap of three. Term limits mean all but three of the 10 current members must leave in July 2025. It does not limit the number of legislators who can serve, but any member must be a member of the South Carolina Bar for at least 10 years.

The veto overridden Wednesday on the expungement bill for underage alcohol sales means the General Assembly has struck four of the Republican governor’s seven vetoes in this two-year session.

And any new requirements limiting how topics involving race are taught in school and requiring teachers to post their lesson plans online will have to wait until next year after Democrats banded together and the Senate failed to get a two-thirds vote needed to take up a compromise proposal.

A new portrait

A new portrait met senators when they came in the chamber Wednesday.

Republican Senate Finance Chairman Harvey Peeler was honored with the painting the day before to celebrate his 44 years in the Senate.

Peeler is portrayed in the purple robe he wore as Senate president for nearly three years. He was the first president of the body after a constitutional amendment took that role away form the lieutenant governor. In his hand is a gavel. The Statehouse is in the background.

And in the lower right corner is a small recreation of a photo of his family taken at his 50th wedding anniversary, a cow representing the Peeler family dairy and the giant peach water tower that looms over his beloved hometown of Gaffney.

This story has been corrected to show that only one of the governor’s vetoes was overridden Wednesday, not three. It has also corrected the overall number of governor’s vetoes overridden during this session to four, not six.

Teacher raises at stake as NC House, Senate budget proposals clash

Additional teacher raises and millions more in funding for the Opportunity Scholarship are on hold as the North Carolina House and Senate navigate a difference of opinions on the short session’s budget updates.

The primary reason for legislators returning to Raleigh this April for the short session was to pass budget updates, but after about two months of work, progress is looking murky with two opposing budget bills from the House and the Senate.

Budget adjustment talks kicked off in late April when Gov. Roy Cooper released his proposal that accounted for a $1 billion surplus. His priorities were mainly in funding public schools, raising teacher pay and increasing child care funding.

Governor's budget proposal: Gov. Cooper lays out budget proposal as legislature reconvenes. Here are the highlights.

He called for an 8.5% teacher pay increase, much higher than the average 3% raise outlined in the General Assembly's budget passed last session for state employees.

Cooper said the General Assembly had a choice to make: Fund private school vouchers under the Opportunity Scholarship or fully fund public schools, saying it would be tough to do both.

But the General Assembly hasn’t made a decision yet.

Competing House, Senate budget bills

The House passed a budget proposal, HB 263 , with a 68-36 vote last week that immediately caused concern among House Democrats for its small teacher pay raise (an average 4.4% raise), full funding for the Opportunity Scholarship and for the speedy manner in which it was taken up.

The budget “invests a lot of the surplus in things that are very much needed like Opportunity Scholarships, more investment in public education with raises, additional raises for teachers, for state employees,” House Speaker Tim Moore, R-Cleveland, Rutherford, said last week.

Rep. Lindsey Prather, D-Buncombe, called the funds appropriated for the Opportunity Scholarship “unconscionable.”

Prather was hoping for teacher raises closer to 8.5% like what the governor proposed.

She said that when the state fails to give teachers raises, the burden often falls on county governments to fill in the gaps, which can lead to higher property taxes.

Budget talks: NC Senate approves millions more for opportunity scholarship, Democrats push back

Prather also took issue with the process of the budget, which was voted on in committee the morning after it was released the prior evening.

“Not only have we not had enough time to read and look into it, but more importantly our constituents and voters have not had enough time to look at it,” Prather said.

Instead of taking up the passed House budget bill, the Senate passed their own on Monday night in a 27-19 vote, with less overall spending and no additional teacher and state employee pay raises while they agreed on fully funding the Opportunity Scholarship, which would cost an additional $463 million to clear the waitlist.

Moore said last week the House would not take up the Senate’s budget bill, leaving the chambers in a sticky tug of war.

Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger, R-Guilford, Rockingham, said his main concern with the House's proposal is the total spending.

Moore said there’s only about a $30 million difference between the chambers' budgets. Berger disagreed, saying it was a $523.8 million difference in total and a $312 million difference in new spending.

The House needs to “get serious about the spending number” and then the Senate will engage with them, Berger told reporters.

What happens next?

The legislature passed a two-year budget plan last session, which would cover the upcoming year even if they fail to pass a budget update this short session.

It’s possible, Moore and Berger agreed, that the legislature adjourns for the summer without passing anything.

“There’s no need to just stay here and try to force something that's not going to happen,” Moore said.

It’s also possible for the chambers to re-convene later in the summer or in the fall to pass a budget. The House intends to take a break for the first few weeks of July and the Berger said the Senate will likely only hold no vote sessions after this week.

It's a “relatively low-pressure situation,” Moore said because of the two-year budget already in place.

Berger agreed.

"I think the provisions that we have in that budget adjustment bill are things that would be nice to have," Berger told reporters after the Monday night vote. "I don't think they're necessary for the state to continue on a good trajectory."

For the legislature to officially adjourn for the summer, they have to either agree on a budget or agree to not pass one.

Perfect School Assembly Anchoring Script

Assembly Anchoring Script

Crafting the Perfect School Assembly Anchoring Script: A Step-By-Step Guide

An engaging school assembly is like a well-coordinated dance – it flows smoothly, keeps the audience engaged, and imparts important information. As the anchor, it’s your responsibility to maintain this rhythm. To help you do just that, we’ve prepared a detailed guide on how to craft an effective school assembly anchoring script.

1. Setting the Stage: The Opening

Kick off your assembly with a vibrant welcome, setting a positive tone for the rest of the event. Use phrases like “Good morning everyone! Welcome to our school assembly. We’re delighted to have everyone here, ready to kick-start another fantastic day of learning.”

2. Acknowledging Authorities: Greeting the Principal and Teachers

Always acknowledge the key figures of the school – the Principal, teachers, and any other staff members present. A respectful greeting can go a long way in showing appreciation for their hard work.

3. Making an Introduction: Introducing Yourself

Take a moment to introduce yourself. It establishes a connection with the audience and adds a personal touch to your presentation. Keep it concise and engaging.

4. Unveiling the Agenda: Stating the Purpose of the Assembly

Here’s where you’ll explain the purpose of the assembly. Are there specific announcements to be made? Is it to motivate students, or to showcase talent? Clearly stating the purpose helps to focus the attention of the audience.

5. Sharing Wisdom: Thought of the Day

Incorporate a thought-provoking quote or proverb, followed by a brief explanation of its relevance. It’s a wonderful way to stimulate thought and discussion amongst the students.

6. Making Announcements

Announcements should be made clearly and concisely. Speak slowly and make sure the information is easily understood. If there are many announcements, consider grouping them by category.

7. Showcasing Talent: Performances
