STPM Biology

The STPM Biology syllabus is designed to enhance candidates’ knowledge and understanding of biology and biological issues, to prepare and equip the candidates for their tertiary education, to pursue careers in related fields and to promote continuous awareness of the importance of biology in life.

The STPM Biology syllabus enables candidates to: (a) understand the biological phenomena, principles and theories; (b) evaluate biological information critically and deduce logical conclusion; (c) plan and carry out experiments scientifically and make deductions; (d) develop abilities and skills in handling materials and apparatus correctly and safely, and; (e) cultivate proper attitudes and values on social, technological, and environmental issues in biology.

Semester-Based

The latest STPM Biology is of semester-based. It is divided into three semesters which are: (i) Term 1 / Sem 1: Biological Molecules and Metabolism STPM Biology Term 1 / Sem 1 has six chapters, namely biological molecules; structure of cells and organelles; membrane structure and transport; enzymes; cellular respiration; and; photosynthesis.

(ii) Term 2 / Sem 2: Physiology STPM Biology Term 2 / Sem 2 has seven chapters, namely gas exchange; transport in animals and plants; control and regulation; reproduction, development and growth; homeostasis; immunity; and; infectious diseases.

(iii) Term 3 / Sem 3: Ecology and Genetics STPM Biology Term 3 / Sem 3 has six chapters, namely taxonomy and biodiversity; ecology; selection and speciation; inheritance and genetic control; gene technology; and; biotechnology.

Well, I have this great fear for frogs. I really really am very afraid of amphibians. But we do have to dissect frogs right for the biology practical? So, is this carried out individually or in a group? Oh my god, So, i am going to fail huh?

where can i find readily preserved insects?

well u can find ppreserve insect in Batu Caves. There are few shops which presere insects. Hope this info help you :D
